Stalin got the hint too. The Nazis studied the success of the Bolsheviks very closely, but changed the basic propaganda premise that the masses were in charge (the lie that worked for them in rural Russia) to the premise that things worked best when the elite were in charge (the version preferred by our Republicans). But in essence, today's Republicans, for all their "anti-kommanism," are the direct spiritual heirs of the Bolsheviks--something they obviously prefer not to hear.
