Ouch. Sometimes telling the truth hurts. No amount of spinning could refute Chris Matthews on that point. John Brabender subsequently changed the subject. Chuck Todd needs to watch this instance of Chris Matthews forcefully telling a truth to a GOP operative.

(16,254 posts)Not sure how I missed this, as I had him on during his segment. These Republican supporters irritate me no end, so I guess I mentally shut that part out. Joan does a good job of fighting them, so maybe Chris had the feeling she would support him if Brabender had argued the points.
What argument could he possibly have?

(6,699 posts)...he knows which side the bread is buttered. He won't bite the hand that feed him...whatever cliche' you want to use. Fact is, todd, and so many like that spineless wimp, will NEVER confront the political hypocrisy, cause he would be out on his ass in a nano-second.

(57,936 posts)While we are at it, voters in states like mine, California, and other large states, are seriously under-represented in Congress.
I know that is what the Constitution provides, but we need to make representation more representative of the people.
When this country was young and the Constitution was written, we did not have cities the size of New York, Los Angeles, the San Francisco area or Chicago or some of the other great cities in some of the states. Voters in urban areas need to be fairly represented in the Senate. We aren't.

That film is heroic. And I'm sure it hit home with people like Tweety who are old enough to remember it all and in a position to understand its immediacy. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the reasons why he's making this point so forcedully.

(3,122 posts)And he has especially been speaking out against efforts by republicans to disenfranchise black voters! He has a great show & frequently tries to ask tough questions. I don't agree with everything he says but I agree with a lot of it.
If you haven't watched his show recently, you should try it!
