2. IIRC, the governor of Texas doesn't have a lot of power, it's more of a bully pulpit.

The Lieutenant Governor actually has more power. Maybe someone from Texas can confirm if that's correct? So Perry is overstating his, uh, CEO-ness a bit. I like how he's trash-talking Ted Cruz though, lol.
