What will the U.S. be like in 2076

I at times don't recognized this country, not because of any specific thing, but the general attitude of some of the people.
What do you think the U.S. will be like in 2076;

Please have fun with this. Add comments, no comment too off the wall.

It will stretch from Kansas to South Carolina and will include Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. Only the Republican Party will be allowed. Schools will all be private church-related. Church attendance on Sunday and at least 1 night a week is mandatory. Homosexuality is verboten Out Gays will be expelled. All males will be expected to marry by the age of 25. Otherwise - you will not be allowed to hold a job. There will be no government benefits. You are on your own after you retire. The military will be in charge of law enforcement. No local police or fire departments. All liberal residents will have to emigrate to the United States. The President? - probably Franklin Graham the 4th.

that in the 60's, that the US would become more and more liberal, that the bigots would all die off. They never do, they just replicate.

Bigots will always be here, I don't understand the notion that bigots are old and dying out.lol Those bigots have children and grandchildren, folks speak as if the younger generation aren't or can't be bigots, please. There are many young conservatives, white nationalist etc. There are many so called progressive youths, who are willing to vote for Ron Paul the white supremacist, that doesn't make sense. After the Clinton admin, many thought Gore would win and the progressive agenda would be pushed through. None of us could've foreseen the far right dark 8yrs of GWB. I'm really starting to lose hope in humanity. Just when you think things are getting better and more progressive, somehow we slip right back into the abyss of evil and hatred.

When we abandoned the Electoral College and switched to using the American Idol system for choosing the President.

Not sure if that change will be for the better or the worse.

I don't think the left/right paradigm will even apply. Think how much things have changed in the last 64 years. How many of those changes could have been predicted in 1947?

There will be new technologies, new injustices, new outrages, new problems. But the one constant will be 33% Republican, 40% Democrat (7% which do not seem to vote so the Republicans narrowly retain the edge, and 27% apolitical independents). The people running the country will continue to let us down. It will be no different than it has been since this country was founded in that respect. We will continue to fall short of our ideals.

If Obama gets re-elected, there is still hope for progressive enlightenment, even though Obama has been far from what I'd like.

If Romney is elected, the split option, corporate rule, or the climate disaster option could happen. Things might not even be better by 2076.
