Only 83 percent of democrats plan on voting in Wisconsin

Just saw this on Rachel show and 93 percent of rethugs plan on voting in the recall. What the fuck is up with the dems in Wisconsin not being motivated.Rachel pointed out that if the democrats loose the recall it's basically OVER for the Democratic Party in Wisconsin and the country.

just by not showing up. And that would just embolden the Republicans to beleive that they can swing any election just by throwing big money at it.

It's sad that people are so easily swayed by flashy misleading advertising. But there it is.

THe founding fathers designed a system that required informed voters. What we have is easily swayed low information voters who make descisions based on sound bites and talking points neatly wrapped up in a 30 second ad.

But if 83% Democrats vote and 93% Republicans vote that would give you somewhere around an 87% turnout give or take a % or two. I have never heard of such a turnout.

How do we expect to get Republicans out of office if we have lower turnout than they do? Republicans almost always show up to the polls.

I can't easily find it for Wisconsin but NC State Board of Elections state the number clearly on their homepage: 2.7M Dems, 1.9M Repubs, 1.5M Unaffiliated, 0.013M Libertarians.

If Wisconsin has registered voters like that then surely it should be a Dem win because 83% of Dems in NC is more than 100% of Repubs in NC. That is, if 83% of registered Democrats actually vote Democratic.

Repubs may have money but Dems *need* get out the vote.

93% is even less believable. A large part of the problem we have is that barely a majority of voters actually vote.

This is some election tucked away in June with no national ticket to help bring out the voters.

If this election was being held in November, I think the Dems win easily. But with it being in June, so short after a primary, it's going to be an uphill battle.

on June 5, so will go the rest of the nation on November 6.

The right-wingers have been made to realize this, and that's why they're turning out
in such unheard of numbers.

Democrats must do it, too! They've got the money, we must make up for it in numbers!

That would put turnout at nearly 90% statewide and that's unheard of in almost any election. My guess is that turnout isn't much over 50%. I'd be surprised if it's more than 60% for a June election.

I saw the chairperson of the DNC on the talk show circuit this weekend and I got the real impression she truly does not thing Wisconsin is a big deal. Don't know if she is trying to lower expectations or scare wisconsin Dems, but I am getting a bad feeling about the 'strategic thinkers' in the Dam party.
