2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIs anyone seeing ANY Mitt yard signs and bumper stickers?
I'm right smack in the middle of red-state hell and all I'm seeing is Obama signs and bumper stickers. I have seen NO Mitt stuff. Zero.
That has to be good news.

(2,034 posts)I've seen Cain & Gingrich stickers, but never a Rmoney until today.
bluestateguy
(44,173 posts)I have seen exactly one Ramney bumper sticker.
I do still see a lot of Ron Paul stickers and yard signs and quite a few Obama stickers.

(10,749 posts)Here is the SW corner of NH, I've seen only one Romney sign, and that's been up since before the primary. No lawn signs that I've seen, and one house that once had a huge (4' x 8') sign some time back has none now.

(2,948 posts)I count myself lucky it is the first I have seen. The sheep in this state vote how their church encourages, namely Republican.
Island Blue
(5,815 posts)Not on the bumper though, on the side window. Way to commit. I don't think I even saw a single Romney sign (in my county) before the primary earlier this month. Tons of Ron Paul signs. There is a loud Ron Paul contingent here. Either that or one guy with waaaaaaay too much time on his hands.
Drunken Irishman
(34,857 posts)It was on an SUV that cut me off a few months ago. Other than that? All Obama or Paul.

(9,464 posts)But I've seen more Ron Paul stickers, and many more Obama stickers. And I'm in Massachusetts.
ZombieHorde
(29,047 posts)I think I saw two or three Obama/Biden stickers this last week.

Joe Bacon
(5,164 posts)Not ONE Romney sign at all. But there are a bunch of Ron Paul signs here.
Interesting that I don't see any signs for Feinstein, but I almost busted my gut laughing at a crop of Orly signs!
Just the thought of Dianne sweeping the primary and Orly in Second place has me stocking up on the popcorn! Imagine the debate...
Control-Z
(15,682 posts)wannabe Cal Senators on the sample ballot? There had to be 20 repubs named. That's where I saw Orly's the first time. Then the sign. I felt like Alice in alternate America.
I figured Orly would be living in a cardboard box or under her birth rock by now with all the fines slapped on her by the courts. I guess it proves that anyone can at least run for office still.
Joe Bacon
(5,164 posts)And Dianne is last.

(84,711 posts)our Local Elections. So that doesn't mean much. I'll wait until after Conventions to do a real survey of my Repug Neighborhood.

(13,397 posts)I only see Obama or anti-Obama stickers (nobama, one big ass mistake america, etc). I haven't seen a Mittens sticker yet. I do note that many of the anti-Obama stickers are typically on the roughest vehicles on the road.
Thrill
(19,178 posts)Certainly don't like him to put shit on their car. But will support him because of their hate for the President
Aerows
(39,961 posts)Which is as red of a state as they come, and I've seen no signs or bumper stickers. It could be, though, that most of the Republicans around here are Baptists, and Baptists think very little of Mormons.

(14,180 posts)"Baptists think very little of Mormons."
Aerows
(39,961 posts)I try!
EDIT: and that probably had to do with that little massacre by Mormons in Utah of 111 people that were Baptists in wagons on the way to settle in the West.
I'm just guessing, but that probably fueled a lot of bad blood. I know, that's a surprise that it would cause hard feelings.
coalition_unwilling
(14,180 posts)you mentioned it. (Saw a PBS special about it quite awhile back.)
As Mercutio might have said, "A plague on both your houses!"
Papagoose
(428 posts)I have seen one or two Rmoney stickers on cars, but still seeing a lot of Paul stickers plus tons of old McCain stickers and those stupid "Sarah!" stickers.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,661 posts)but lots of Obama stickers.
GoCubsGo
(32,078 posts)Well...not "lots" of Obama stickers, but I AM seeing a fair number of them. I think I MIGHT have seen a Romney bumper sticker at some point.
mucifer

(63,901 posts)but also not a lot of Obama (recent) stickers.
It's early, tho.
Jamaal510
(10,893 posts)That was my first time ever seeing a bumper sticker for ANY Republican.
marlakay
(11,447 posts)only my neighbor in my small town has his old sign from last time up
I seen only small town stuff. I think people are sick of both sides. Most the dems I know are voting Obama but not thrilled. It was a lot for Obama to take on, too much to clean up with zero help from the other side, more like them trying to trip him up to fail.

(541 posts)A few weeks ago this topic occurred to me. Zero here in rural North Carolina- albeit 20 miles away from Duke University (so a relatively liberal area of the state). My neighbor who had a Vote For the Amendment (banning gay marriage in our state constitution) yard sign up (and a McCain sign up in 2008) doesn't have a sign up for Rmoney yet. Republicans are old school Southern conservative around here, though. I don't think Rmoney's arrogance, Mormonism and/or Yankeedom will play well down here until they have no other choice but to get behind anybody-but-Obama. BTW, lots of Obama bumperstickers around. No yard signs yet, though.

(32,078 posts)They are in the yards of a small handful of the wealthy horse shit around here. Other than that, nada.

(8,419 posts)Only have seen Obama 2012 stickers.
Have seen a few Obummer and "don't renig" stickers, nothing pro - Romney though.
Happydayz
(112 posts)That seems like an inciting racial hatred type of sticker. I think anyone racist enough to put that sticker on their car, needs to be arrested. I think its a crime to incite racial hatred. There was a guy in Houston TX arrested for having a noose on his truck, I saw that on the news a few years ago.

(6,336 posts)And I live in a red part of a blue state. I'm seeing a lot of Obama stickers (2012 ones as well as 2008 ones).
Happydayz
(112 posts)and i'm seeing a lot of Obama 12' and 08' bumper stickers. I'm not seeing any Romney stickers, maybe one. But I do see a lot of Ron Paul and some Cain stickers. Who in their right mind would put a Herman Cain 2012 sticker on their vehicle?lol
MrSlayer
(22,143 posts)Not a single sign for any candidate. It's way too early for that, at least around here.
KBlagburn
(567 posts)I have seen numerous Obama bumpers stickers.

There isn't any enthusiasm for Romney, just for beating Obama in general per the local message board.
maddezmom
(135,060 posts)but haven't seen any Rmoney stickers or signs and I'm a deep red area.
TBF
(32,041 posts)and I see "Ron Paul Revolution" stickers. If you lived in this area you'd think the race is between Obama and Paul.

(1,033 posts)Occasionally, I'll see a Romney bumper sticker but I'd said Obama has him beat in this category by about 15:1.

(14,274 posts)I live in the middle of a city. I have seen more McCain/Palin bumper stickers that Romney ones.

(4,912 posts)It is early though. I saw a Ted Nugent for President sticker on a pick-up tru k.

(24,402 posts)but no. Mostly I just see "teabaggery" anti-Obama bumper stickers. No "I'm with Mitt" signs or bumper stickers.........yet.

PLUS we have a lot of Mormons here.

(19,348 posts)The other 10% are for Ron Paul. Did I mention that Obama has a 25% lead on Rmoney in the state?
Romney is not liked by most. He is the default candidate who does not inspire.

(775 posts)Nobody is really into Romney. Not sure why he won the primaries.

(72,790 posts)But haven't seen many Obama ones either. Haven't seen any Obama signs. I often see Obama bumper stickers, but not sure if they're from 2008 or not. I live in CT.
No RMoney. No Obama. No nothing. It's early in the process. I expect to see things moving in July.

(4,309 posts)Already seeing a lot Obama 2012 stickers and magnets. I'm taking it as a good sign here in MD.
