2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA cautionary word to Sanders supporters..
I would also add E. Warren supporters, but she is not running.. and Bernie Sanders is a declared candidate
All candidates at the level of office Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are running for will at some point in time ,if they are successful, embrace big money.
Big money is in every big campaign now..(thank you for nothing SCOTUS)
Just know money will follow if the candidate is successful, big money is going to be a factor no matter who is the candidate.
Hillary Clinton has big money behind her, because she has been at this level of office seeking before.
In the end, judgements have to be made on the policies the individual candidate embraces.
Maybe some day we can get Citizens United overturned.. but not this year..

(22,878 posts)and it is a very sad state of affairs.. I know one of the things that will factor in on where what few dollars we have to donate, will be support of candidates in any state who are willing to work to over turn citizens united..

(22,878 posts)These senators and congressmen in other states fighting the good fight deserve as much support as we can whittle out of our retirement budget.. I am trying to look at a very big picture here and hope we can get some movement to get all this corporate money out of politics..

Money from corporations, unions, environmental groups, & individuals that follow the rules and don't actively try to exploit their relationship with the US government shouldn't be arbitrarily lumped in with companies that have a track record of behaving in a manner which is detrimental to the American people.

(4,452 posts)Just think if all of the Bernie supporters were out on the street with a Bernie T shirt bypassing the commercial media freeze-out and telling people who Bernie is!
How about putting up business cards at the local grocery store promoting a pro-democracy candidate that had a plan for helping working people?
I even take it a step further, I have my own FM transmitter broadcasting commie, liberal, progressive shows pretty much 24/7. My tag line for the broadcast is "Open Your Mind What You Don't Know Could Kill You"

A cautionary word to Hillary supporters: Speak for yourself when it comes to taking corporate money. Bernie is running a very different campaign.
Edited to say I'm not speaking to or about the author of the OP; I just disagree with the premise.

I know that shocks people, but it's a fact.
