Just got through watching World War II and the Nazi-reminds me why I hate this country

and conservatives. The inhuman cruelty conservatives are capable of resonates with the cruelty of Nazi Germany
My older girl died from a completely preventable medical situation leaving a 14 yr old daughter. She was WORKING for one of you capitalist of course with no medical coverage..I hear the conservative whine poor people are lazy. .A word occurs to me that is not publishable. Nazi had the Jews and the defectives (read poor people in terms of the US-because the poor are treated like shit in this country...the first thing you cons want to do is cut social programs that protect the powerless) somewhat similar to incarceration of the Jews and "defectives". My daughter did not have access to decent food and had to purchase the fatty foods to eat. Food stamps you ignorant conservatives do not provide enough for a healthy diet...but who gives a damn as long as it isn't you that is experiencing this. You take your money overseas and hide it to keep from paying taxes. If you had invested in the US maybe there would be decent paying jobs...and if the jobs weren't there, then damn it at least provide basic human needs...but if you do that how in the hell would you stammer "but I didn't know" and claim innocence in the death of poor. Anti abortion laws which the rich and the well to do just go to Canada or Europe to get their abortion, but you put the poor through hell because you are so "moral". What a laugh!
Damn few of your children end of in the front lines of the wars you profit from.
What a selfish sick nation I see before me ....and you are the cause of it. The French has a good solution to the likes of you, I'm waiting for more common people to wake up and see the evil you allow to live.
This is probably too damn close to the truth about this country and the moderators probably cannot handle it.
20% of our children live in poverty
Even though people have medical insurance they can't afford the co-pays
How many millions of jobs have gone overseas. Service jobs that remain pay so damn little it is difficult to pay the rent. You cannot fool me, I see the agony and heartache every day of the week on the roads. The idea that it is just alcololics and drug addicts are in the woods and on the streets trying to survive...you leave a hellva lot to be desired. I've talk to those who came to America for opportunity and unless you have money you likely will get know where. You don't have to worry unless the 99% finally figure it out and get fed up.

posted info. about the starvation food rations and calories calculated by the Nazis at the work camps and death camps for the prisoners when I recently read about new harsh food restrictions on Wisconsin public assistance people, but figured the info. would be regarded as old, out of date, etc.

No, it's very relevant to what all groups have the capacity do to others unfortunately. Poor black people in the South often got the worst, left over food, clothes, schools and books if any. I know people who still harbor concern over their next meal from that heritage. One who grew up poor and in an orphanage who is white and successful for some time, unconsciously still wraps his arm around his plate to 'protect' his food as he did for years in the institution.

I saw a film that is available on Netflix called "Treblinka."

If you see that film you will understand why I say the NAZIs were so many, many times worse than anything we can imagine. Worse than anything that has happened in history probably at least since the Mongol invasions.

Treblinka (pronounced [trɛˈblʲinka]) was an extermination camp built by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II.[2] It was located near the village of Treblinka in what is now the Masovian Voivodeship north-east of Warsaw. The camp operated between 23 July 1942 and 19 October 1943 as part of Operation Reinhard, the most deadly phase of the Final Solution.[3] During this time, it is estimated that between 700,000 and 900,000[6][7] Jews were killed in its gas chambers, along with 2,000 Romani people.[8] More Jews were killed at Treblinka than at any other Nazi extermination camp apart from Auschwitz.[

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treblinka_extermination_camp

700,000 to 900,000 Jews and 2,000 Gypsies went into that camp. Many were children. There was very little work there, mostly cutting hair from those about to die, sorting their clothing and the gold in their teeth and maybe glasses etc., and digging graves. Of the 7 hundred thousand to 9 hundred thousand who entered the gates at Treblinka only around 70 survived.

That was just one camp. The people came to Treblinka and were systematically stripped of everything they had including the women's hair and were dead in a very short time.

Just the worst thing I have ever heard of.

But before their rise to power, who would have thought that what ended up happening could possibly happen?

I used to think that the Nazi period was an aberration. That it could never happen again.

Now I do not believe that, I believe it could and it could happen here.

See how many Americans were so easily propagandized into supporting the brutal war in Iraq.

See how little outrage there is over torture or the huge numbers of innocent Iraqis we killed.

True the slaughter and torture in Iraq was on a much smaller scale, but one million people dead is horrendous yet doesn't get the attention of the American people.

atrocities and Holocaust. Sorry if I gave that impression. Treblinka was one of the worst of many Hells. I've studied that period of history a good deal, through books, the films, photographs, witness accounts and records of conditions on my own. Also from traveling to Munich and Nuremberg, and from my work as a museum curator in history at the Smithsonian and the National Archives in Washington, DC. The Archives is where the Captured German Records Division holdings of the US Government are archived.

The items I have seen are many including cans of Zyklon B from the camps, the original scrapbook of Eva Braun with photos of Hitler; shelves of hair, shoes and personal items at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. shown by a colleague on the collections staff.

Also, my father was a 24 year old 1st Lieutenant in the 7th Army, awarded for combat in the Rhineland Campaign, in the Liberation of Dachau 70 years ago and in the Army of Occupation in southern Germany, Bavaria. What he experienced I know affected him for years.

And peers in college, one's parents were Hungarian Jews who survived Auschwitz, another's mother was a young girl near starvation in northern Greece during the War and another friend was an Italian Jew whose family barely got out of fascist Italy to England when she was a girl. The Nazi Reich and crimes against humanity are nothing to ever forget, minimize or compare I truly know.

Especially when it results in death? The soul of this nation has gone to sleep. Denial through monetary means has the same result...I wish there was a TV special that showed the American people just how much pain and heart ache this country is producing, it is hidden now by everyday events that keep us busy and there is no time to stop and reflect what this country's values are or are lacking. Just like when World War II was over the German people were made to go through the camps and see the starved dead bodies, this nation needs to be made to see what hell they are producing for the lower classes.

We are not a citizenry, we don't care about our communities or our neighbors, it is every man/woman for themselves, what a selfish way to be!!! And the GOP has done a good job of pounding this home... they are evil people .

They may be more willing to use it, but believe me, I have heard some pretty screwed up stuff from liberals and progressives. Case in point: the Tsarnaev threads here over the last few months. People are getting into some sick torture fantasies, practically drooling over the thought of him in pain.

Just tired of dehumanization. We're all humans; we're not innately different. One half of our country is not a bunch of sadistic psychopaths, much as their leaders may be.

On the other hand, the rest of your rant was spot-on. Their actions are disgusting, hateful, and a bit terrifying.
