I clearly don't understand why? I thought that Obama has done more for veterans and their benefits in 3 years than BushCo did in 8. What's the story here? Why are the veterans down on Obama? Could it be DADT or is it something else? Can anyone shed any light on this?

(13,200 posts)Obama has a more than 5-to-1 edge over Romney in political donations from individuals who list themselves as employees of the Defense Department or one of four military branches, a USA TODAY analysis of federal filings shows. Army employees are the biggest source of military contributions to each: $108,571 to Obama and $22,004 to Romney.

(24,689 posts)There is a fairly large segment, not just Vets, who absolutely will vote against the President. These are the haters, racists, hard core RW, Limbaugh, Hannity, Faux types. The hard core Obama supporters group is much smaller in comparison, however, there is another large segment who plan to vote for the President but they just arent so hard core about it. This phenomena shows up the Rasmussen strongly approve vs strongly disapprove polling.
Its an interesting polling result but I dont think it really means anything because in the end "a vote is a vote" no matter how much a person hates the other candidtate.
