(17,301 posts)Those guys they bought off ages ago will come in handy when the purges are still not enough to throw the state to the RepubliCONS. Their fix it guys are the black robed men on the Supreme Court that call themselves justices.
So when the Supremes throw the race to their donors, will Americans again merely sit and watch?

(7,968 posts)I really think they would have a case. Bringing such a suit would be a win-win because even if they lost the case it would help put the information in the mainstream.
(Yes I know that the mainstream has learned over the years to "ignore" ACLU cases. But still it would help stir the pot.)

The Justice Department sent a letter to Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner Thursday evening demanding the state cease purging its voting rolls because the process it is using has not been cleared under the Voting Rights Act, TPM has learned.
DOJ also said that Floridas voter roll purge violated the National Voter Registration Act, which stipulates that voter roll maintenance should have ceased 90 days before an election, which given Floridas August 14 primary, meant May 16.
Five of Floridas counties are subject to the Voting Rights Act, but the state never sought permission from either the Justice Department or a federal court to implement its voter roll maintenance program. Florida officials said they were trying to remove non-citizens from the voting rolls, but a flawed process led to several U.S. citizens being asked to prove their citizenship status or be kicked off the rolls.
Six members of Congress wrote Gov. Rick Scott earlier this week demanding that he stop purging the states voting rolls since the process improperly flagged numerous individuals who were eligible to vote.

(64 posts)I have no problem with them purging voters who are really dead or haven't voted in 30 years. But if they are active voters, they shouldn't be touched.
I am registered to vote in three places. Lee County where I was born and finished high school, Tuscaloosa County where I went to The University, and Montgomery County where I live. They never bothered to purge those lists. This will be my tenth presidential election where I have voted in all three places. I think if you actively vote, they shouldn't purge.

(26,355 posts)One of the voters who was purged was an elderly WWII veteran, a citizen.
They're engaged in voter suppression.
