If Bernie came out today and said

"With a bit more incite I now support reasonable gun control legislation in an effort to reduce gun violence in America"
I am not going to say
Hold on now! Five years ago you voted against gun control! So what you think now should not be accepted.
Everyone evolves at times even Hillary.

That simple. To have these people talking openly about these issues on the national stage is huge. It helps to build off of the grassroots momentum and simply makes the conversation more comfortable for the whole country. Strict gun regulations should be talked about loudly and often.

Go look at his entire voting record.

Furthermore, he did not use god to justify his stance, and to compare controlling guns to the bigotry that was anti-LGBT civil rights especially today, well, you are a royal $*!

That sort of change wouldn't help him in the general, but it might in the primary. And the timing would be too convenient.

I might approve of that position more than his past one, but I'd know it for the pander it would be.

Just like I know when Hillary is doing the same thing.

In 2008 she was in favor of states deciding what is right for them regarding gun control. Bernie decided that parts of the Brady Bill were wrong for his state.

Q: Do you support the DC handgun ban?
A: I want to give local communities the authority over determining how to keep their citizens safe. This case you’re referring to is before the Supreme Court.
Q: But what do you support?
A: I support sensible regulation that is consistent with the constitutional right to own and bear arms.
Q: Is the DC ban consistent with that right?
A: I think a total ban, with no exceptions under any circumstances, might be found by the court not to be. But DC or anybody else [should be able to\ come up with sensible regulations to protect their people.
Q: But do you still favor licensing and registration of handguns?
A: What I favor is what works in NY. We have one set of rules in NYC and a totally different set of rules in the rest of the state. What might work in NYC is certainly not going to work in Montana. So, for the federal government to be having any kind of blanket rules that they’re going to try to impose, I think doesn’t make sense.

What we need to do is have a national dialogue on the pervasiveness of violence in our culture. We need it to be okay for people to not react violently when their feelings are hurt.

about marriage being only between one man and one woman. She did so for many years.

If I were working in her campaign - and I can be persuaded, Ms. Clinton, if you are interested in a motivated, working class designer and politico with campaign experience - I would expect a surge of more videos of these speeches against civil rights. I think this problem can be overcome with some sound strategy though.

He voted to expand background checks, and for a ban on assault weapons. He also voted to ban high-capacity magazines of over 10 bullets. He received an F or D- rating from the NRA, indicating a gun control voting record.

He is not a gun control extremist who wants to ban all guns. Vermont is a gun-friendly state and Bernie has avoided levying undue burdens on responsible law-abiding gun owners.

Bernie has supported some gun control legislation...he never pandered to the NRA types in the way tat HRC pandered to homophobes for decades(even when she was the senator from New York and thus no longer had any need to pander to any conservative voters on any issue).

Bernie never did anything on the gun issue comparable to HRC's long-standing defense of DOMA.

If someone doesn't want to vote for him because of something in his record, then don't. That's your choice.
I think, if elected, Bernie would be a strong advocate for gun control.
