Obama congratulates Romney on GOP primary win

(CBS News) President Obama and Mitt Romney briefly set aside their differences on Wednesday as Obama congratulated Romney on officially winning the delegates necessary to become the president's Republican rival.

The two spoke by phone in a call initiated by Mr. Obama.

"President Obama said that he looked forward to an important and healthy debate about America's future, and wished Gov. Romney and his family well throughout the upcoming campaign," a statement from Obama's reelection campaign said ...

It was all part of the plan ... just as Kerry fought in Vietnam and went against the grain in the 70s to join the protests against it just so he could have a Presidential run decades later,

Obama was sowing the seeds of his undermining of Amercia!!!

his surrogate and fellow dem in Kerry without hating on him just to prove his brilliance as POTUS.

That may not be the reply, but have observed (not you. some praising the POTUS as take no stuff at Kerry and Gore's expense.

Thankfully, out POTUS is classy and above that.

I seem to remember reading it at the time and Bob Shrum mentions it in his memoirs. If I accurately recall, Bush said words to the effect that he was looking forward to a clean campaign leading up to the November election
