(25,225 posts)telling her to stay in the background. She really doesn't need to be on the "air" as you put it - because she's in the lead. Being out in the open and doing a lot of media interviews and the like can potentially get her in trouble - because you know how things are taken out of context or what if by chance she misspeaks and steps in it.
So I'm sure their strategy is to have her lay low and only give the big speeches where every word is carefully chosen and written out for her.
Those chasing the lead - like Sanders, O'Malley & Chaffee - need to make news as that is the only way that they have a chance at penetrating the big lead that Hillary has built up.
So that's my explanation as to why you're not seeing Hillary talking to the media on a more frequent basis.
That is the luxury of being a frontrunner.

(62,325 posts)the most important job in the country and you decide you don't have to explain to them WHY you should get that job?
I can't think of a worse strategy, even if you are just applying for a private sector job. Naturally your competitors are going to out there touting their qualifications for the job. If you're absent, no one is going to go looking for you.
That is an arrogant, entitled attitude and a sure way to anger the people who don't view these candidates as entitled to anything, unlike their inside the DC Bubble 'advisers'.
It gives the impression that she views the public as insignificant and her highly paid advisers are far more intelligent.
I truly hate the way they underestimate the people. But if that's what they want to do, then get ready to lose, imo. There is no such thing as 'luxury' when it comes to this job. Once you announce your intentions to seek the job, you become part of the group, nothing special, just another applicant for a job.
To see it as a luxury she has somehow 'earned', how exactly has she earned the 'right' to be removed from the process everyone else is expected to participate in?

This is precisely the problem: if she, as the "front runner," has to withhold her ideas, thoughts and policies from the people she would be working for, she represents a corrupt and failed system that's long overdue for change.
As a Democratic candidate for office in 2012, I despise and reject a party that allows this sort of dissembling in a campaign.

(18,791 posts)This kid, if I can even call him a kid, is WISE beyond his years.
He sees exactly what is blatantly going on and the dirty pool that is/will be played.
Bravo for his complete clarity.
Now...if I could just kick Brook's ass, I would be so happy.
