I watched the dashcam video and realized that I may have said and done exactly what she did, many of us would have.We are #SandraBland.

Seems unlikely that a woman who told a cop she'd take him to court for false arrest committed suicide in jail three days later. #SandraBland

Just to be clear #SandraBland's mama said: "Once I put this baby in the ground, I'm ready ... this means war."

(9,289 posts)This won't be solved at the local level. Congress, the President, and the DOJ has to get serious about enforcing constitutional rights. Pulling her out of that car was a violation of her moral rights and her constitutional rights. Her death was so fucking unnecessary, so fucking tragic.
Good for O'Malley for saying her name!

(86,328 posts)...that was the whole point of the protest.
What we don't need (especially here) is divisiveness and acrimony. You obviously haven't been paying attention because O'Malley actually sat down with the BLM lady who got up on stage at Netroots Nation's forum and engaged very effectively with her in an interview where he outlined specific steps he believes should be taken to address the concerns of her organization and others.

It was important I be @Netroots_Nation & to be a part of the #blacklivesmatter conversation. Im not done listening: http://omly.us/1gKG1lE
"It was important that I be at Netroots Nation this weekend, and I am grateful I was a part of the important conversation about #?blacklivesmattera conversation that must not end with this conference. I am already listening to and speaking with leaders from this movement, and I will continue to do so throughout my candidacy to ensure those voices and needs help shape my criminal justice reform package to make it as comprehensive and effective as possible. -O'M"

(17,732 posts)There were a few other threads about the case that day and one or two just cracked the rec list (that I noticed).
I was shocked that no one seemed to care about this obscenity.
So, is EVERYONE "pandering" now that people are starting to understand what happened and spread the word and speak out about it?
(Oh btw I defended O'Malley and Sanders for their NRN performances as well. People of good will can have different opinions about that.)
