My husband went to the grocery store.. the grocery store folks.. and there was someone walking though the store with a side arm strapped on.. Not a policeman or undercover police.. Where have we gone as a country that people now think its a good idea to walk around armed and ready to shoot..
I grew up with guns.. my Dad hunted... so guns per se does not bother me.. but this attitude of strutting around ready for some gun battle in makes no sense to me..
Edit to add.. why did I put this in primaries.. because just reading where different candidates stand on gun control..
Its important I think

(131,216 posts)you are a very fearful person. I don't think that's a very good way to go through life and I sure don't understand it.

(11,555 posts)I also grew up around guns, and I still own guns, but it's utterly insane for people to have to wear a side arm, or in some cases carry a rifle, every place the go. I live in a rural area where hunting is done by a lot of locals, and yet I never see people in the stores carrying guns wherever they go. Sure some may have a concealed weapons permit and I just don't see the handgun, but it's not like all the pictures I see from other areas of the country where people think carrying a gun is the only way to do things.
We need to end this insane idea that carrying guns into bars, stores, churches, etc. is acceptable. Military weapons belong in the military, not on the streets being carried around by "nuts" who think they are living in the old west.
