This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by TexasTowelie (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).
I have seen many threads here over the last couple of days asking us to marginalize, vilify and smear anything having to do with the BLM movement because they picked on poor Bernie...twice.
After BLM disrupted Netroots Nation, Bernie should have been better prepared. Before agreeing to speak at the smaller event celebrating Social Security and Medicare, he should have asked about security. Bernie should have learned from his very recent experience, especially when speaking in a city like Seattle, which is no stranger to protest. His failure to do so, and his very poor response to the BLM activists shows me that Bernie is not ready for the national stage. If he thinks this is as bad as it can get, he needs to take a look at what the Clintons have experienced for the last twenty years. He is nothing more than a fringe candidate. He is not Presidential material.
Of course, there has to be thread after thread here, shooting the messenger, smearing the protesters and the entire movement. They did not treat Bernie with kid gloves, they did not act like he is a demigod. The Bernie supporters here act entirely too much like Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, who hurry in to smear critics and victims alike. They try to dig up dirt on Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, or anyone dead or alive who mounts effective criticism.
I come here to discuss, to get the news, and to learn. I come here to support my candidate, Hillary Clinton. At least that is what I used to do. I have offered some criticisms of Bernie, but I have not vilified him the way Bernie supporters have vilified Hillary. Now, I see threads that have nothing to do with Clinton, where snark is thrown in at any opportunity. It reminds me of going to Amazon to find a book review, or to a movie website, and finding reader comments tearing down liberals, instead of providing information about books and movies. Not long ago, I found nasty comments about liberals on a cooking site. I was looking for new ways to prepare pork tenderloin, people!
I had hoped that this would have died down after a couple of days. Today, of all days, the Bernie supporters should have given it a rest. Today was the anniversary of Michael Brown's shooting in Ferguson. Could you have shown a little respect, just a little?
Some of the most squirelly and paranoid comments are blaming both Sander's disruptions on Hillary Clinton. Somehow, she and her campaign have a plot to disrupt his appearances. Why would they bother, when Clinton is so far ahead in the polls? And they seem to forget that the BLM disrupters are angry, angry people. Why would they allow white Hillary Clinton, or any of her supporters, to tell them what to think, how to act, what do do? They are fighting for their lives! They can think and act for themselves. It is doubly disrespectful to say that they need Hillary to guide them.
I repeat: what is more important, Bernie Sanders or black lives? That is how much you people seem to have simplified things.
Again, it is not Bernie Sanders. It is his supporters, whose behavior grows more incredible by the day. Grow the hell up, Sanders supporters. Get your priorities in order.

(65,137 posts)Black Lives Matter is of critical importance but that doesn't mean its leadership can't make mistakes, shutting down Sanders ability to speak to his supporters is most definitely a mistake.
Doing so has only served to garner criticism from and alienate people that would otherwise support their organization.
Thanks for the thread, murielm.

Here one; What's more important?: Being nice to a large crowd of seniors or having 3 dumb fucks act like white trash and screwing it up for everybody??
One thing is true. Don't give those Women a gun. They'll blow their feet off. (shoot yourself in the..)

(1,712 posts)Really?
How would you classify THESE folks....
FERGUSON, Mo. Multiple gunshots rang out as hundreds gathered Sunday at the spot where Michael Brown was killed by a white police officer to mark the first anniversary of the shooting that rocked the nation and shined a spotlight on race relations in America.
Dozens of police moved into the area where the gunshots were heard. Officers in riot gear and armored vehicles quickly filled the streets.
At least one victim was taken Barnes Jewish Hospital, KSDK-TV in St. Louis reports.
Moments after the shots were fired, a young woman screamed, "The killed my brother. They shot my brother."

(1,712 posts)you peg their behavior as being akin to that of "white trash".
Which begs the question, if white folks act up in a similar manner, they're ALSO referred to as white trash?
I'm just trying to get the definitions straight, that's all.

(39,961 posts)I think they are mad because he drew a crowd of 12,000.
He had at least 4000 at the Social Security and Medicare rally that he was the last speaker of until the two buttheads rushed the stage and started screaming.
Right after that, he spoke before 12,000 people at the stadium in Washington.
In Portland, his next stop -
28,000 is a good number of folks, particularly when they are in several different venues. The man got 12000 in Dallas, TX for God's sake, and 6000 at the Lakefront Arena.
The gleeful #BowDownBernie they used in a bunch of tweets and the spite behind it is beyond appalling.

(32,988 posts)or don't respond at all. It does matter that it was hidden.
You have no answer to the things I asked in the OP, and you know perfectly well that I am not racist.
Stop posting red herrings.
Do black lives matter more than hurting Bernie's feelings, or those of his supporters? Do they?

Pointing out your staggering hypocrisy is not a red herring.
If you cared about black lives more than accusing Bernie supporters of NOT caring about them you'd realize how this makes you look.

Explanation: LOL. I just finished reading the post when the jury noticed appeared. This is tame for GD-P discourse.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Not a TOS violation. Feel free to respond to the post with reasoned arguments.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I disagree with the OP mightily. I am a staunch Sanders supporter, but I do not find this hide-worthy. We can duke it out in thread.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I could not disagree more with the OP. But s/he has a right to their opinion, and I will not hide people's sincere opinions, no matter how much I disagree with them. Censorship of opinion is not what I believe Bernie would do.
I understand the OP's frustration, but as a I said, disagree completely especially now that the truth about the disrupter has been exposed.
And yes, today is Michael Brown's anniversary. There were some beautiful memorial demonstrations around the country to remind us of that terrible murder and of the injustice that followed.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: So, if we're not automatically for her preferred candidate, we're "filling the site with garbage"? I thought that the purpose of du is so we can discuss democratic candidates and causes. She thinks that's "garbage"? Seems divisive to me.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT

Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Disgusting post. As a Bernie supporter I haven't said one negative thing towards Hillary supporters and have been very vocal saying I will happily vote for her if she is the nominee. Stop making shit up, and look in the mirror. With your OP you are turning this site into garbage. HIDE!
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
