Economic and Environmental opportunities do you no good if you are dead
My greatest focus is the environment.. and I have often said and posted all things take a back seat to that..because without potable water, breathable air.. plantable soil.. we cease to exist.. all things and opportunities come after that..
That is my focus.. and of course I would have strong feelings about this.
But truthfully.. my environmental stances take a back seat to .. can my son or daughter walk down the street and not be harassed or killed by those who are there to protect us, or just our neighbors who look or sound different from us.
BLM is an organic group who are now international in scope that is trying to get this message across.. They will not and cannot be a perfect group who will say and do perfect things so that we will all feel good..
Seattle and at Netroots.. activists confronted our politicians because they had access... wanting them to address the safety needs of the community is something we should all be doing..
And yes, you will have rude people not siting in chairs waiting their turns.. they are scared to death..
Some of them may be right wingers, but they are looking for someone to speak to their personal safety and they have a right to be safe.
Why Democrats you might wonder... Well it is because we have traditionally this last half century and the beginning of this century..been the party who has addressed these issues.. and will continue to do so..
I come from a rainbow family, and yes I know the truth of white privilege.... It has a lot to do with the fact you can sit on the porch in your neighborhood and usually feel fairly safe..
That the criminal element in the white community is not automatically stamped on every white person there is in that specific community . Yet minority communities of color and culture face that..
Fear of the other..I wish as a nation we could get past that..
And no I will post in this op again.. just getting some things off my heart
