The problem with identity politics

What do you believe will happen in the GE if the Republicans nominate non-politician Fiorina as president and Marco Rubio or Ben Carson as VP. With identity politics identifying with a candidate is more important then ideology.

and I keep score on how closely a candidate conforms to that ideology.

A political liberal, I think civil rights (true equal rights for women, minorites, and GLBT) are the most important issues in the coming electon.

The fact that Fiorina is a woman doesn't sway my vote. Her policies concering the equal rights of women and minorities are what counts not the fact that she is a woman

The same is true with Ben Carson.

Furthermore, becasue of the way that the Republican Party works, even if she were a raging feminist married to Gloria Steinam, she would not be th person writing legislation.

All the Republican Congress and Senate need in a President is someone who can use a Pen and sign whatever they put on the Prsident's desk.

I wish we lived in a Post Political Party world. We don't.
