(2,975 posts)I'm overwhelmed by the excremental talent on display. Breathtaking.
I'm reccing that to air it out.
Jeff Goldbloom should be standing nearby in black with shades on...wow.
On edit: since responding I've been getting some creepy bait messages that seem intent on getting a nasty response. Bernistas watch your inboxes.
I'm sorry I didn't tune into this post earlier, because your post subject was identical to what I would have posted. What a load of horseshit.
Whatever he chooses to call himself, and regardless of how he is classified by others, Bernie Sanders is more of a Democrat, and an ardent supporter of both democratic and Democratic principles, than just about anyone else running.

(11,785 posts)If he's as bad for the Party as Knauer claims, he won't win the nomination.

made the decision to accommodate him after a quarter century of caucusing with us, and they aren't going to reverse that decision. Yes, the states control elections, but they take cues from the national party infrastructure. No man (or woman) is an island.
Democrats don't try to stop people from voting, they don't try to prevent access to the ballot. That's what Republicans do.
I think Clinton will win the Democratic nomination, and telling Sanders supporters that they can't vote for their candidate isn't the way to encourage them to vote in the General election. We'll need every voter to beat the GOP.

I have to go on record as saying that the hiding of this thread is one of the lowest moments I've ever seen on DU. The poster was passing on an opinion from a Democratic activist, one that I didn't particularly support--but was an articulated stance-- and the four jurors who voted to hide should be ashamed of themselves.
Picking Dem
(106 posts)People do have the right to vote, and vote for whomever they wish. If Bernie wins, then more power to him, double.

(14,255 posts)Is this supposed to send me, as a Bernie Sanders supporter, into a tailspin of doubt and fear? Is it meant to convince me to stop supporting Bernie and support what the blogger considers a Real Democrat? Too bad, blogger!
As a lifelong Democrat myself, I consider Bernie more of a Democrat in spirit than some of the other Real Democrat candidates. I vote on issues, not a "D" on a jersey. Sorry.
Enjoy your angst.

(23,664 posts)I think "Sandy" needs to take a few deep breaths and step away fro her keyboard for awhile.
She seems to have an unnatural and overemotional reaction to Senator Sanders.

(20,709 posts)First of all, despite not being a Democrat, Bernie caucuses with Dems and supports Democratic principles. The only problem with not being a Democrat is that if somehow he gets the nomination, the GOP will attack him for being a self-described socialist. But that's a political problem, not a substantive policy problem.
He's right that the far left doesn't understand pragmatism, and that many of Bernie's supporters are hatefully attacking other Democrats. But that's not Bernie's fault. He's said clearly that he likes and respects Hillary. He's also said that he's not going to run as a third-party spoiler. If he gets enough primary votes from Dems, then he deserves the nomination.
Finally, the very idea of not voting for the Democratic nominee, whether it's Bernie or Hillary or anyone else, is idiotic.

(30,481 posts)If Hillary comes out of the primary some democrats won't vote for her.
While I believe it to be extremely stupid they would do this, I also understand how personal it is.

(16,104 posts)My own feeling is that the Democratic Party is ideologically bankrupt.
We have to ask ourselves, Why should we work within the Democratic Party if we dont agree with anything the Democratic Party says?

(53,397 posts)I voted not to hide this post but I do want to make clear the post is poorly thought out and ill conceived. I favor Hillary in the primaries for several reasons, one of which is electability, but he has voted for both a Democratic House Speaker and a Democratic Senate Majority leader since he has been in the correct bodies to cast those votes. He belongs on our ballot.

(45,319 posts)candidates one right after the other to please the 'moderate centrist' and 'faith based' Democrats. Sandy is the exact Democrat who never raised an objection to the endless hate speech, the parade of preachers, the insults, the jabs oh no, she's the sort that said 'don't make a fuss about it, be pragmatic we are on your side, just not now'.
In short, fuck her self important, self righteous assholery. God this Party makes me ill of late. This cycle just reminds me of how vile the last one was and who was to blame for that.
