(8,760 posts)That is a seriously respectful opening to a protest.
What do they call that?.....Boston nice, I believe.

(98,883 posts)groups. O'Malley met privately with them after the NetRoots and I think other times also. I believe Bernie did too. So I have no idea what you are referring to.
If you schedule a meeting with a private group of people, it is for a dialog, not for a protest
Also, the second part of the video is not particularly cordial, so take it for what it is

(2,427 posts)Hillary says "you're gonna have to come together as a movement and say here is what we want done about it." Also she said, politically speaking "can't explain it, can't sell it, it stays on the shelf"
Unfortunately the video ends before we get to hear his response.

(2,427 posts)Youch. Part 2 does not reflect well on Hillary in my opinion. She seemed quite agitated.

(110,159 posts)not much that we can do to stop the violence against us.
that was very important, and no i was not into that at all.
i do understand her position about not changing hearts, change laws....
but... his point is right on. i do not know if she is capable of addressing what he is saying, though i think it is important part.
thanks

(2,427 posts)Earlier on in the first video she admits if you can't explain it and can't sell it, it sits on the shelf.
Trying to be as impartial as I can but if Hillary doesn't get some heat from this, especially the second clip, then I'll have to either question my sanity or question those carrying water.

(1,238 posts)From Hillary. She seemed a bit agitated but the videos seem edited, so who knows.
Also what the heck was that comment from Hillary about her saying "Ok I'll only go talk to white people then" I can understand being frustrated and defensive, but you can't say that.
Jennifer Kay
(28 posts)the comment about going to talk to white people was insanely degrading and her attitude was way out of touch.

(17,081 posts)It makes sense to me. It doesn't seem like she's listening though. I can't judge it like someone coming from the Black experience can.

(28,627 posts)why were BLM ushered into another room?

(26,549 posts)was that BLM arrived late and the Secret Service wouldn't let them in.
This was shortly followed by the claim that Clinton asked the Secret Service to let them in anyway, which they supposedly refused to do.
Both of these claims are significantly damaged by the Secret Service agreeing to a private meeting after the event - if BLM was a danger to Clinton for arriving late, then they are still a danger in a private meeting. Especially because the'd be right next to Clinton instead of some distance away from her.

(8,815 posts)Not sure why that would happen, but I am going to guess. Perhaps the video is not complete, and the principals from BLM that were there did not appreciate the leak. If we can agree that the video was edited, then there might also have been a call from Hillary that asked for an explanation.
I don't know that the setting was conducive to a heart to heart conversation. This really wasn't a meeting. This occured in the overflow room after an event at which BLM had intended to protest.
What we are missing from this video is an initial confrontation, what we saw was the aftermath where two parties were sounding each other out for further discussion.
