Still no Veep.

Does being an unethical, hypocritical, imperialistic, out of touch, fundamentalist bastard also make one a coward?

Or is it just that no one wants to run with his dumb ass?

Since the GOP Convention is going first, Romney should be announcing his VP soon.

In '08, Obama announced Biden on August 23rd:

In '04, Kerry announced Edwards on July 6th:

http://articles.cnn.com/2004-07-06/politics/kerry.vp_1_kerry-ticket-senator-kerry-key-battleground-state?_s=PM:ALLPOLITICS

In '00, Bush announced Cheney on July 25th:

http://www.nytimes.com/2000/07/25/us/2000-campaign-running-mate-bush-reported-set-name-cheney-partner-ticket.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm

In '96, Dole announced Clinton on August 10th:

http://cgi.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1996/news/9608/10/dole.announce/

In '92, Clinton picked Gore on July 10th:

http://articles.latimes.com/1992-07-10/news/mn-1845_1_running-mate

I didn't do incumbent parties because they either had their running mate (as was the case for Bush in '92, Clinton in '96 and Bush in '04) or because their convention was held after the Republicans and their pick came after the Republican's choice - which was the case in '00 and '08.

So, of the past five elections, three were picked in July and two in August. The latest Romney will announce is the week prior to the Republican Convention, so any time before August 27th.

But, then again if you were a Republican being vetted. Would you want to tie your political future to Romney?

Also, as far as your description of Rmoney as "an unethical, hypocritical, imperialistic, out of touch, fundamentalist bastard," he may be many things, but as a Mormon he is definitely not a fundamentalist. I think the fundies do not even consider Mormonism to be Christian.

See the nominating process for the VP here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Vice_President#Nominating_process

Interesting tidbit:

Under the Twenty-second Amendment, the President of the United States may not be elected to more than two terms. However, there is no similar such limitation as to how many times one can be elected Vice President. Scholars disagree whether a former President barred from election to the Presidency is also ineligible to be elected Vice President, as suggested by the Twelfth Amendment.[18][19] The issue has never been tested in practice.
