What matters is that they are safe here in the United States and calling for them to be deported is callous.

I would also be worried about the children who are still there before jumping into the US politics.

Perhaps they should be seeking to influence that election instead of trying to perform a new Bay of Pigs in Honduras.

If one were to google SoS Clinton and Honduras, well, let's just say the Clintons have a history with right wing military dictators in Latin America. Think Plan Colombia.

It makes Hillary's callous remarks about just sending these kids back even more appalling.

issues. She attacked Obama from the right on immigration. Talked despairingly about "illegal immigrants" during her Senate campaign. Wanted to send children back to likely death in Central America. Opposed driver's licenses to undocumented Americans in 2008. Her sudden shift left on immigration completely contradicts her record and past rhetoric.

O'Malley is by far the best candidate on immigration/refugee issues and has been for years. Passed DREAM Act in Maryland, gave driver's licenses to undocumented Americans. Stood up to ICE and banned the Baltimore jail from holding undocumented Americans without criminal charges until ICE could take custody of them to deport them. He opposed sending child refugees back to likely death. Called for due process for these refugees. Opposed warehousing these kids. When the U.S. government didn't step up, he did. He got social service groups and faith groups together to foster these kids in homes until due process could happen. He worked to make sure these kids got legal representation for their trials, etc.

He has also been only candidate who has called out the horror in Dominican Republic and the UN's complicity in the cholera outbreak in Haiti. He was first candidate to call for allowing Puerto Rico to declare bankruptcy.

Hillary's been getting kudos in media for her vague immigration plan, while they are ignoring O'Malley's progressive and detailed immigration platform.

Let's hope O'Malley finally gets some notice for being a true partner with the Latino community. Not just a politician who pretends to care during election season.
