For Those Who Like Bernie Sanders and His Ideas But Are Afraid He Can't Win

In all of these ways, Bernie's campaign is less vulnerable than Hillary's. Because he has a dividing wall between those he represents - the people - and those that would seek to control him for their narrow greedy interests. He's the safer choice.

Look - the next president will appoint two, if not three Supreme Court Justices. Given the ever-increasing power of this institution in our society, it's safe to say the future of our democracy hangs in the balance. So vote. And make sure everyone you know votes. And vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever that may be.

But right now, if you believe in his wisdom, his forthrightness and his tenacity, then know that there's not a single good reason to place your primary vote elsewhere but for Bernie Sanders.

is that he is attracting the Reagan dems. They now know that trickle down doesn't work (because their job was sent abroad) and they know the big banks are only looking out for themselves. Many like their guns and God - and in that corner Bernie is not threatening at all. He's respectful on religion and doesn't have a problem with hunting as evidenced by his record. In fact, we all have seen his voting record in the Senate for decades. We can trust him.

Bernie has the best chance of any candidate in reversing Reagan's toxic social legacy because he isn't wedded to it and at this point in the space time continuum mass epiphanies are taking hold.

We as a nation have reached a tipping point, too many critical social issues have exposed Reaganism for what it is, a national suicide pact.

you could add Hillary to the bottom group re military strategy -

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said.

Is this legitimate criticism of the candidate however?

Bernie, Hillary, or any of the 19 and counting on the other side of the aisle must have their fair share of difficult, or even bigoted, people supporting them.

Somehow, for some reason, however, Bernie's supporters are worse?

I reject that a candidate is culpable for what some of his or her supporters choose to say, but I honestly would like to know why the Bernie crowd gets such consistent criticism.

Perhaps it is because he is the fringe candidate?

Bernie is above reproach and when people listen to him they like what they hear. Non-Bernie supporters know this and as Bernie's record is so good know they can't attack him head on.

So what they do is start the meme that Bernie is supported by mean spirited, racist, misogynist, etc. people. They do this so people that may consider supporting Bernie will not want to be associated with his supporters and so they will stay away from supporting Bernie, not because of Bernie but because of his ill-mannered racist and misogynistic supporters.

I do not fault Bernie at all, might even vote for him. And yes, some of his supporters are worse. They've gotten multiple posters I like booted from DU. They pile on in threads like no other candidate's posters.

There are some (only some) in the Bernie crowd that do most of the damage.

Their posts tend to be self righteous, arrogant tone, and when challenging others often mean-spirited. If you disagree with them you are an automatic Hillary supporter, and often described by them using offensive language.

I sat on the sidelines and chuckled for a long time, but once the site started losing good posters, I decided to engage more. And it's not just losing posters to jury hides. Some have stopped posting because they're sick of the fight. What some of these folks are doing is just wrong. And unless other posters step up and engage the site will become worthless.

It's because that's all they've got.

They can't impeach any of his policies because they all know he's correct on every issue. What's left? His supporters.

They've got nothing to throw at him that will stick. So far, everything they've tried has failed - White Supremacist Liberal, elitist, he lives in a predominantly white state, his supporters are racist white people, his hair is messy, he has a weird Brooklyn accent, he's supported mostly by wealthy white racists who drive Volvos and it goes on and on and on, but Bernie still pulls in huge crowds and that drives many here insane. I've noticed things get especially bad right after one of Bernie's huge mega rallies.
