2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumi think clinton is doing a fantastic job.
i like how she is running her campaign. very profession, solid, creating a strong foundation, state by state. smart. i can always appreciate smart. (but then, i see the same with omalley and sanders too. meh. democrats. they are good, hence lovin' the party). i like how she started and progressed. i do not care about the people that are gonna trash it. i think she has done a helluva a job. i mean. she has had the shits from here to there, throwing the email crap at her.
you go clinton.
i am respectin' your tenacity in the face of stupid.
gotta respect that.

(6,409 posts)So she knows that the email "scandal" is likely to turn out the same way. It's already showing signs of winding down, with the revelation from the State Department that Clinton did not violate department policy. During the lull between non-scandals, the media may, accidentally, ask the candidates about issues, and Clinton should do pretty well on that front.

actually, just giving you a wave of acknowledgment cause i know you have been silenced. and i do not cotton to that. having been there myself. but you want me to delete, let me know.

(7,581 posts)I support Bernie, but would work for and vote for Hillary if she is our nominee. BUT, I think she's a terrible campaigner. She had that petulant tone in her voice when defending against the email accusations and asked how she wiped the server? With a rag? Good Lord, I winced. What a ridiculous, out-of-touch answer. I think she was trying to be flippant, but it sank.
I'm worried about Nov 2106
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)like petulant.
i have no issue what she said to a repug, fox news reporter after having answered a number of times.
i am with her....
UNpetulantly.
adigal
(7,581 posts)You obviously are a huge fan and perhaps are a bit blind to some of her less stellar qualities. I hear petulance and annoyance. It's not a knee-jerk reaction at all. It's what I hear and you are insulting, saying I'm just acting and not thinking.
Not the way to get people on your side. Just saying.
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)thank you very much
and no. i am not a supporter. i am still holding out for omally.
IF i were a supporter, i would hope discussion was possible regardless, and not so easily dismissed as a fan.
i am not asking anyone to be on my side. useless. i am stating my opinion.
to regress to petulant, to me, is like using her... tone. that, i call bullshit to.
petulant. what is she? a fuckin child?

(100,127 posts)that this is the very language used to reduce any powerful woman to dust just because she doesn't act like the submissive tart she ought to be.
Honestly.
This very point sounds so reminiscent of the faux outrage made after her "...stay home and bake cookies" comment.

(110,159 posts)"submissive tart "
madonna/whore? and even that, ya. lol
ya. i gotta tell you, gave the poster benefit of doubt with first reply

(7,581 posts)Not one of these young ones who think feminism means you are able to show your body and no one should "slut-shame" you. I grew up adoring Gloria Steinem - women should be judged by their brains and actions, not their looks and sex organs.
If this is your best response to the FACT that Hillary gets a petulant tone, she is in trouble.
Who's knee-jerking now? Ad hominem attacks don't work on intelligent people.

(7,581 posts)I get that you will never see this. Most people can't see flaws in their heroes. I try to see the weaknesses in those I support. I like Bernie, but I dont know if he will get past that old "socialist" label. I try to keep an open mind and see things from other points of view. Then we can work with their flaws, rather than deny them..

where is the sanders smear?
that i like the dem party. that i like dems?

seabeyond
(110,159 posts)and ya. you can throw out your last insult to me and we will leave it there, like always.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)what i am tired of is all the shit i stated in that OP and i hear it repeatedly.
if you do not believe it is happening, how about challenging it when you see it. as a sanders supporter, why arent you and the others that decry it is not happening, stepping up when you see it.
how about two OP yesterday saying because of rw smear clinton should be dumped. and sanders should automatically get to be the front runner.
none of these are fabrications, pulled out of my ass.
i am glad you can chuckle at it. i am all over the board. at the point of hearing a mere man, an independent not even a member of democratic party that hasnt put in the time to build that party, is my savior pushing me to angry.
mostly i am fasinated by the evolving of this campaign. it really is very interesting.
your approach, "Sometimes I chuckle, mostly I just shake my head wondering what the real Bernie "
is excellent
Which of course is a meme you keep pushing when you know it's false, just like you claim he doesn't support minority or women's rights.
Yeah, I see you.
No one is making you smear Bernie and his supporters, that's all on you.

beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Speaking of not listening, did you ever watch those videos that were pm'd to you?
The ones Luminous Animal sent you to prove you were wrong about Bernie's support of social justice?
Because if you had you wouldn't have made that claim.
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)does that mean he has NEVER expanded on social justice opinion? no.
You claimed Bernie was campaigning ONLY on economic justice
yes
and recently he has been expanding. and he has been expanding cause he LISTENED
now. done
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)You keep saying you want to learn, why won't you watch them?
Afraid you'll have to admit you were wrong?

This is not my issue, but yours

(110,159 posts)i was obama in '08. i am seeing a totally different campaign from her, and she is much more in it. so, i am interesting to see how she goes. she has had a lot of time, and sec of state was good, for her.

It is about taking back our country.
Let's get a million people in Washington, DC on October 17.
No, the corporate media will not broadcast the revolution but we will tweet, FB, and other social media broadcast it.

(110,159 posts)with the old moderating system i rarely got a delete. jury system, up in the air, rolling the dice, merely 4 people that dont like me. not tough to do.

(34,845 posts)For those who have misgivings about Clinton, you should keep in mind that she is intelligent and her heart is in the right place. The only thing that matters after that is the quality of the advisers and consultants she surrounds herself with.
For those who think her election -metaphorically speaking- will be the end of the world as we know it, I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.
At least keep an open mind.
