2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum-have your own debates without Hillary.
The fuss is about the D.N.C. hosting only three debates. There is enough money in the secondary candidates funds to rent a venue and host their own debates. Two or three more would work.
CNN or PBS would certainly stream them.
Hillary can choose to show up or face an empty chair. Or Eastwood certainly would be willing to stand in for her.

(568 posts)Let her show up to the six sanctioned debates all by her lonesome.
I'll bet that the MSM would happily cover the unsanctioned debates.
They'd better get with it, however.
And when they do, they should put most of their energy into slamming the GOP, not each other and not even Clinton (not directly).
It's bullshit, and I hope they decide to do this, O'Malley, Sanders, and the others.

(25,219 posts)they will not be allowed to participate in the DNC sanctioned debates.
So if all the candidates other than Hillary participate in non-DNC sanctioned debates - when time comes for the DNC sanctioned debates - Hillary would be the only one showing up. She can't debate herself now - can she? It would certainly would leave a lot of egg on the face of the DNC - wouldn't it?
So all the other candidates should stick together and participate in non-DNC sanctioned debates. If I'm correct - all the other candidates do want more debates. Hillary seems to be the only one not asking for more debates. Kinda wonder why - don't cha?
Either way - Hillary looks foolish. Either an empty Hillary chair at the non-DNC sanctioned debates or Hillary only at the DNC sanctioned debates.

It's time for a serious challenge to power. And they place we're seeing power right now is in this rigged debate process inside the Democratic Party primaries.

It's a party. The party makes its own rules. There is nothing illegal about that. The party has every right to include and exclude whomsoever it chooses.
