Forget More Debates. We Need More Candidates for the Debates.

The proposed line up sucks. People complain that there will be too few debates, but with the current cast of characters, we will be lucky if Americans tune in for even one of the shows, let alone a half dozen.

Who have got so far? A old white haired white guy:

Another old white haired white guy:

A slightly less old and less white haired white guy:

And another slightly less old and less white haired white guy:

Along with an old white woman:

Wow. I saw more diversity at Sanders South Carolina rally. If we want to get viewers we need a little more of this

And this

And this

And this

And especially this

Yes, I know the last five (beloved) Democrats support Clinton. Too bad. If they REALLY support her, they should get into the primary so that the debates will attract large audiences.

If you have a thousand debates, it won't help any of the candidates if no one watches except die hard Democratic political animals who have all made up their minds whom they plan to vote for already. And if no one watches, Dems will go to the polls and pick the most familiar name. Hmm. Maybe the boring line up is a sinister plot by Clinton? Maybe she has used magic powers to get all the truly telegenic and charismatic Democrats to support her so they won't run so no one will watch the debates....

Maybe you should focus on the policy they present rather than their physical appearance , unless that is an issue for you . Which it appears to be .

I mean sickest.

So yes, if you are gay or a POC then obviously you should run for president.

If you are old and white and male, not so much.

Bigotry knows no political boundaries.

As a bi-racial man, I am disgusted by this kind of game!

Granted your last op about how the LGBT community thinks Hillary is a lesbian and that's why she owns that segment of voters, and that she owns black voters because her husband was the first black president, was even more nauseating, but this is pretty out there and offensive.

with a female adviser back in 2007. You can't have forgotten that.

It's late. So I'll just post a link about Clinton's LGBT base:

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/hillary-clintons-complex-relationship-her-lgbt-base

“She is a cultural icon in a way that a number of other women known by only one name are,” said Seth Bringman, who is gay and worked on Clinton’s 2008 campaign and served as communications director for the Ready for Hillary super PAC. “Hillary is the Madonna or the Cher to a younger generation of gay guys across the country. They see a part of themselves in her.”

snip

One such supporter known to many journalists who cover Clinton is Daniel Aubry, a 20-something baker from New York City who likes to make pro-Clinton cupcakes and other baked goods in his spare time. “I think that a lot of gays can associate with someone who’s been knocked down and who has been treated unfairly,” said Aubry.

Oh, and I think we'd get more viewers if these four guys participated:

HRC does not and never has identified as a lesbian. And in case you forgot, she opposed equality based on her belief in the sanctity of her heterosexual marriage until quite recently.

by now to run frankly is not that committed.

I have no problem with a few more extra debates being added, but adding more candidates with views that will most likely match the current candidates running will only fragment the situation.

We have Sanders, O'Malley, Clinton, Chaffee, and Webb, which cover the spectrum from liberal to moderate to leaning conservative which is Jim Webb.

Rather, my beef is with the fact that the Democrats didn't have a debate within a day or two of the Republican debates. Debates amount to massive free advertising for the party message, and the Democratic Party lost a golden opportunity to demonstrate the contrast between ideologies, seriousness (please no nonsense about Secret Service code names) and temperament.

Will Rogers was right to say that he didn't belong to an organized (or terribly competent) political party--he was a Democrat.

As for the lack of diversity in the field, I agree.

Your last OP had me wondering, this one seals the deal. You have come across as quite intelligent in the past so this level of offensiveness must be deliberate in order to smear Hillary by association.

I appreciate your efforts but really there's no need to make yourself a laughingstock just to help Bernie.

That being said, you are spot on about diversity. Only one woman and no minorities.

How many presidents have we had? How many of them have been women? What percentage of the country is women? What percentage of senators and house members are women? How many governors are women?

You can add minority to each one of those questions. It is an embarrassment and not even close to representative representation.

Though I don't see what that has to do with anything considering there aren't any individuals practicing Judaism running for President. I know you don't think the Jewish people have a strong voice in Washington considering your comment here. I strongly disagree. I also disagree in putting it in the same category. Sanders can leave his house in the morning just like any other white member of society in this country. Can you show where Jews earn cents on the dollar compared to other Americans? Can you show where cops are shooting them off looks alone in this country?

And no you certainly do not fucking know that I think Jews don't have a strong voice in Washington. I said no such thing. I inferred no such thing. That's all you making shit up- a bad habit of yours.

And guess what? Ted Cruz and many Hispanics can leave their houses in the morning and not get shot. Also, you seem to have missed the guy just found guilty of murder who Ser out to kill Jews. He shot people who weren't Jewish, but his intent was to kill Jews. Sorry, but antisemitism is a real phenomenon.

You don't get your own facts, dear. Jews are a minority.

"you don't have to practice Judaism to be a Jew." I differentiated the two in my reply. I thought you would catch on to that. Sorry you missed it.

"I inferred no such thing." Sorry, you did.

"a bad habit of yours." I have too many bad habits to count.

"Ted Cruz and many Hispanics can leave their houses in the morning and not get shot." I strongly disagree. You clearly don't know what having darker skin can do to someone in this country.

"but antisemitism is a real phenomenon." Now there is a comment that was never said or inferred.

"You don't get your own facts, dear." Thank you for being endearing to me. I appreciate it.

Have a wonderful day.

Without him in the debates, I doubt there'll be any mention of the serious zombie threat we face in this country. What's the DNC trying to hide, hmmmm?

(Telling, also, is the fact that none of the other candidates -- on either side -- have promised everyone a free pony. Debbie's anti-pony bias has been noted and will not be forgotten, I'll tell you what...)
