I just want to take a moment to thank the proprietors and inhabitants of
http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/
again, that's:
http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/
From the marvelous picture of our next President that welcomes visitors to the site, to... well, I won't go there... every pixel is crafted as if by Leonard Pinth-Garnell himself.
I haven't had so much fun in months. Which partially speaks to my lack of fun, but still, that site is awful, awful entertaining.
Now I await my lock. And it's alright. Because someone needs to thank these people. And that person is me. Because http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/ rocks. And it's alright. As foretold by the Velvet Underground.

(62,325 posts)just hate for those who exercise their right not to support a politician based on issues.
I'll say it again, I am so relieved we don't have to try to explain that kind of 'supporter' to anyone.
I'm beginning to feel sorry for Hillary supporters who are not a part of this. And certainly wouldn't try to blame them for it. No wonder Hillary is losing support so rapidly, especially among women.
polly7
(20,582 posts)I think they need to get out in the fresh air for awhile and really ask themselves what such obsession with people on the other side of a monitor is doing to them.
They certainly aren't 'helping' anyone or anything, except maybe their own emotional need to tear others down and get 'revenge' for whatever slight they're feeling that's made this so important to them.
Stepped in their own crap and now seem stuck in it.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)to feel sorry for them in a way. I can't imagine spending that kind of precious time on something so negative, it damages the spirit.
Well, I clicked on the link, saw it and am now more convinced than ever that Hillary supporters will contribute enormously to her losing this election, just as they did last time, with their race and red baiting and dog whistling etc.
Just glad I don't have to try to defend this because there really isn't a defense for it.

(20,582 posts)out. I actually read that ... BS and his supporters have no right to be called Democrats, and then all the vile names they called him - just pure hate. And hiding to do it, instead of letting people answer to it directly, here - that's what really gets me. The cowardice of it, all the while plotting and laughing about getting Cali out - by MIRT members, no less. Just gross.
Some there don't surprise me at all - bullying, alongside their perpetual victim-hood have been their MO all along, but others ..... it is sad to see.
Most people I know in real life try to lift others up, not tear them down.

If I worked that hard only to end up losing, I would be whining too.
Which is why I like to pick electable, viable, qualified people to support, like Bernie. They are pretty much immune to the smear mongering.

(14,881 posts)and there are a couple that continue to post here, apparently in an effort to get us to lose tempers so they can alert. They've stated outright they intend to keep harassing Cali to keep her in "time-out" as much as possible. Also, supposedly one of them is on MIRT over here and apparently is using that position to try to get Bernie-supporters PPR'd.
I was feeling like I'd picked up a stalker here, who was needling me constantly in recent weeks. I found her username over there yesterday, so put her on ignore. She's been ignoring me ever since, but that could be a coincidence. Maybe my "ignoreds" no longer light up "my posts?"

I really only wear them to Who concerts, so I just take a pair of foldable ballet slippers to walk to and from the venue. (I LOVE the Who, so we go to their concerts more often than you think - and I'm friends with Simon Townshend - Pete's little brother who plays rhythm guitar with the band when they're on the road, so we go... a lot. I always get a text from him when their near my town and sometimes he plays his solo music at local venues.)
In any case, they get TONS of attention at the concert. No less than a 100 people come up to me to ask about the shoes at every concert.
They really are beautiful and that picture doesn't do them justice.
Thanks for commenting on them!
polly7

I'm happy for you! Hope you enjoy many more concerts!

I wonder how it must feel to have so much hate towards people simply because they like a different candidate than do? I can't imagine, probably just as well. Which is why I make sure to choose candidates I don't have a hard time defending on issues. Makes it easier not to get frustrated with people doing what citizens are supposed to do, talk about issues.

They haven't the least interest in politics and never have, politics for them is nothing more than a lightning conductor, DU is/was their social circle and Hillary's a placeholder for their latest "contraversial" stance. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the primary motivation for most of them in choosing Hillary is BECAUSE Bernie's so popular on this site.

I know you would agree with that polly, as you are not a coward and willing to say what you want to say, right here.

You do the same, but you're much nicer about it.
That's why I just don't get why people who are members here need a site like that to back-stab posters who they've been with for years - well I do, but it surprises me. Their 'issues' page wasn't even up and running until all their ugly crap was brought here first. I can't imagine being in that group - how depressing would it be to look forward to nothing but gossipy garbage every day? Getting into heated conversations about something important to you is normal - running away to hide and smear and claim victory, then back here to demand the poster here talks to you with respect ........ that's just crazy thinking and crazy-making.
Hope they enjoy themselves there, because now that their ass has been shown and their complete disgust and hatred for certain people here displayed, they won't get quite the reception from those people or those who care about them when they come back to bully or pretend. I'm sure of that.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)expressing their hatred in what is already a depressing cesspool and shows why we need moderation, a jury system to keep a site relatively worthwhile visiting.

Do not be critics, you people, I beg you. I was a critic and I wish I could take it all back because it came from a smelly and ignorant place in me, and spoke with a voice that was all rage and envy. Do not dismiss a book until you have written one, and do not dismiss a movie until you have made one, and do not dismiss a person until you have met them.
Here we have the major themes or attitudes of smarm: the scolding, the gestures at inclusiveness, the appeal to virtue and maturity. Eggers used to be a critic, but he has grown out of childish things. Eggers has done the workthe book publishing, the Hollywood deal-makingthat makes his opinions (unlike those of his audience) earned and valid opinions.

sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)over the past few years, seeing that attempt to draw someone into swearing an oath on something that was so far removed from the topic of the OP, not to mention the ACTUAL website under discussion, confirmed my opinion, and that of many others, that the playing of the Race card here was never sincere. Nor the Women card, and difinitely not the Gay card.
I got in and out of that website as fast as possible. And definitely won't be returning. I didn't pay that much attention to the design,, it was all the hate being directed towards DUers that caught my attention.
On the good side, maybe DU will finally be free of the disrupters who stake claims to represent entire groups of people, unless someone from that group happens to disagree with them.
I trust your judgement on websites, I was not by any means being anything but facetious considering the little game that was being played, so familiar now from that source.

(17,656 posts)To me, the olden days at the DU wasn't so much as a community, but rather more like a crowded 2-seater outhouse with a very long line of impatient members with urgent business on their mind lined up out in front of it.
Some former members said that sometimes the lines were so long that they couldn't even see the outhouse from where they were standing in the line, even though they could smell it long before it came in to sight.
The DU started out well enough with BYOB as a rule, but quickly turned out to become BYOTP before the very first Presidential election cycle took place at the DU.
And well, as they say, the rest is just histrionics.

Once again, this must be the issues I keep hearing about. Better than talking about Sanders fighting relentlessly against a pathway to citizenship for over ten million people. (151,269 posts)website, and won't. My political forum is DU. There are all sorts of websites out there spewing all sorts of vile nonsense. There are many individuals spewing vile nonsense, too. Nothing will change that. What DUers post elsewhere is stuff I'm not ever going to see. What people post here is my concern.
I'm not interested in following DUers to other websites. I've had people do that to me, looking for stuff they can use against me at sites I haven't been on for many, many years. I find such behavior to be ugly and useless. So I don't do that. Many DUers post at other places on the Internet. That's up to them. I don't follow people around the Internet.
Moreover, when I find threads on DU where someone is following DUers around the Internet, I don't read beyond the OP of the thread. I find the whole process objectionable. If someone posts vile stuff on DU and I see it, I will respond to it. What they post elsewhere is of no interest to me, and I don't have the time to follow up on what someone says about what was posted.

(62,325 posts)for most DUers, like the cave, it's best left to its own boring devices. But sad is a good word for people who can't get along with others and who deceive others for whatever reason.
Can't imagine pretending to be something I am not for any reason, but it takes all kinds I guess.

(5,213 posts)In there, no one will laugh when you say a President Clinton will get the House GOP, which voted 54 times to kill the ACA, to EXPAND it. In fact, you'll probably get a lot of head bobbing.
JoePhilly
(27,787 posts)As for what you think about my view on the ACA, and how it might be improved, I honestly could not care less. From what I've seen you post, your views on politics aren't worth much to begin with.
You wrote a silly OP with a BS premise. I critiqued it as such. Whether you agree with me or not does not effect me in the slightest.
I do get the sense that you think Bernie will be able to Bully Pulpit the GOP into supporting Medicare for All.
Good luck with that.
LondonReign2
(5,213 posts)Emphasis on 'attempting'.
I'll also give you this: you are the only Hillary supporter who could even attempt to come up with one thing Hillary could "get done". The fact that is was 'might get the House GOP, who have attempted to repeal the ACA 54 times, to vote to EXPAND it' puts the nail in the 'Bernie won't get anything done' talking point.

Supporters of any candidate here have always been allowed to post from other sites in which their candidate (or any candidate - and his/her supporters) is being shit-slimed or discussed. Why is this one any different, is it special because DU'ers are running it?

(7,804 posts)After all, we're supposed to take Bernie's supporters as an indicator of his aren't we?
Well, then.
As hillarysupporters.com is an independent site frequented by people that support Hillary and a candidate's supporters are supposed to be taken as pertinent information regarding the candidate, I think we can make the same assumptions about the kind of person Hillary must be from her supporters as we are all frequently told we can make about Bernie from the qualities of his.
Unless the idea that a candidate's qualities are relatable to those of their supporters is a really headcrackingly fucking stupid idea, of course, which observation you are, of course, free to make.
In either case, the thread isn't "off-topic" at all, unless every single thread ever posted here about Bernie Sanders supporters is also off topic.
So, there you go.

I'm positive the not locking of this thread is some diabolical false flag ops by HRC supporters just to make poor Bernie supporters look like whining babies in a political forum.

So shocking as compared to, say, multiple threads, not to mention an entire forum tucked away, dedicated to Grumbling about us. Not to mention whining about Skinner -- who provides this forum for all of us, free of charge if we can stand the ads, and created an apparently totally neglected Web page dedicated to Hillary.
