Hurry! Get IBTL!

I just want to take a moment to thank the proprietors and inhabitants of

http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/

again, that's:

http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/

From the marvelous picture of our next President that welcomes visitors to the site, to... well, I won't go there... every pixel is crafted as if by Leonard Pinth-Garnell himself.

I haven't had so much fun in months. Which partially speaks to my lack of fun, but still, that site is awful, awful entertaining.

Now I await my lock. And it's alright. Because someone needs to thank these people. And that person is me. Because http://hillaryclintonsupporters.com/ rocks. And it's alright. As foretold by the Velvet Underground.

And hiding to do it, instead of letting people answer to it directly, here - that's what really gets me. The cowardice of it, all the while plotting and laughing about getting Cali out - by MIRT members, no less. Just gross.

I'm short - only 5'1", so I'm used to wearing heels - but these hurt my toes. It's not even the height of the heel.

I really only wear them to Who concerts, so I just take a pair of foldable ballet slippers to walk to and from the venue. (I LOVE the Who, so we go to their concerts more often than you think - and I'm friends with Simon Townshend - Pete's little brother who plays rhythm guitar with the band when they're on the road, so we go... a lot. I always get a text from him when their near my town and sometimes he plays his solo music at local venues.)

In any case, they get TONS of attention at the concert. No less than a 100 people come up to me to ask about the shoes at every concert.

They really are beautiful and that picture doesn't do them justice.

Thanks for commenting on them!

Oh, and here is another thing - remember how the GOP accuses Democrats of dirty tricks that the GOP is doing, as a distraction and deflection? Same thing is happening here.

I leave you this - Hillary's advice to Monsanto, which makes this quadruple funny and other words it is too early to remember - "Change your marketing, not your product." Bwhahahahaha!

Has there EVER been any question that that bunch of pointless tossers has ever been on this site for anything other than hearing themselves talk? And primarily about OTHER PEOPLE or THEMSELVES or EACH OTHER? When you add up the amount they've posted about politics and the amount they've posted about DU, what would you find?

They haven't the least interest in politics and never have, politics for them is nothing more than a lightning conductor, DU is/was their social circle and Hillary's a placeholder for their latest "contraversial" stance. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the primary motivation for most of them in choosing Hillary is BECAUSE Bernie's so popular on this site.

That place is Troll Heaven.

You do the same, but you're much nicer about it.

That's why I just don't get why people who are members here need a site like that to back-stab posters who they've been with for years - well I do, but it surprises me. Their 'issues' page wasn't even up and running until all their ugly crap was brought here first. I can't imagine being in that group - how depressing would it be to look forward to nothing but gossipy garbage every day? Getting into heated conversations about something important to you is normal - running away to hide and smear and claim victory, then back here to demand the poster here talks to you with respect ........ that's just crazy thinking and crazy-making.

Hope they enjoy themselves there, because now that their ass has been shown and their complete disgust and hatred for certain people here displayed, they won't get quite the reception from those people or those who care about them when they come back to bully or pretend. I'm sure of that.

Guess I'm smarmed-out for the day.

....

Do not be critics, you people, I beg you. I was a critic and I wish I could take it all back because it came from a smelly and ignorant place in me, and spoke with a voice that was all rage and envy. Do not dismiss a book until you have written one, and do not dismiss a movie until you have made one, and do not dismiss a person until you have met them.

Here we have the major themes or attitudes of smarm: the scolding, the gestures at inclusiveness, the appeal to virtue and maturity. Eggers used to be a critic, but he has grown out of childish things. Eggers has done the work—the book publishing, the Hollywood deal-making—that makes his opinions (unlike those of his audience) earned and valid opinions.

over the past few years, seeing that attempt to draw someone into swearing an oath on something that was so far removed from the topic of the OP, not to mention the ACTUAL website under discussion, confirmed my opinion, and that of many others, that the playing of the Race card here was never sincere. Nor the Women card, and difinitely not the Gay card.

I got in and out of that website as fast as possible. And definitely won't be returning. I didn't pay that much attention to the design,, it was all the hate being directed towards DUers that caught my attention.

On the good side, maybe DU will finally be free of the disrupters who stake claims to represent entire groups of people, unless someone from that group happens to disagree with them.

I trust your judgement on websites, I was not by any means being anything but facetious considering the little game that was being played, so familiar now from that source.

To me, the olden days at the DU wasn't so much as a community, but rather more like a crowded 2-seater outhouse with a very long line of impatient members with urgent business on their mind lined up out in front of it.
Some former members said that sometimes the lines were so long that they couldn't even see the outhouse from where they were standing in the line, even though they could smell it long before it came in to sight.
The DU started out well enough with BYOB as a rule, but quickly turned out to become BYOTP before the very first Presidential election cycle took place at the DU.
And well, as they say, the rest is just histrionics.

And further, she was an acquaintance of Taylor Dane in high school. That wasn't her name back then, though. And my wife is part Danish, sort of; it's disputed territory. And did you know that Danes don't call a Danish "a Danish"? They call it "Vienna Bread". What's up with that? And who are the Viennese blaming it on?

But I digress.

First on CNN–Confidant’s diary: Clinton wanted to keep records for ‘revenge'
Posted by
CNN 's Dan Merica, CNN Political Research Director Robert Yoon

Fayetteville, Arkansas (CNN) - Shortly before Hillary Clinton’s effort to pass health care reform died in the summer of 1994, the first lady asked a close friend and confidant for advice on “how best to preserve her general memories of the administration and of health care in particular.”

When asked why, according to the friend’s June 20, 1994, diary entry, Clinton said, “Revenge.”

Fine. I've been thrown out of far classier places..

However, might want to rethink that "screw 'em" 'tude. For example, the last four presidential campaigns I've done scut work at the local Dem Hq. My family's motto: Suit up, step up or shut up. If Clinton is nominated, I'll vote for her, but she'll not get one joule of my work or one penny. After all, she doesn't need any. Right?

I am aware that my efforts are at the bottom low level, but millions of efforts can add up. Ground pounders win wars. That's how President Obama won two.

So, dissing potential help is far more important than eight more years of Repug 'administration' because the last eight did wonders for this country and world.

just in case

Y'all are like escaped slaves and Sanders supporters are like slave masters?

Do you not realize that y'all are not actually victims of anything even remotely comparable to the blight that is slavery. In fact, y'all are not victim at all except in your own minds?

Where racist, anti-Semitic, bigoted, and sexist remarks have stood. I'm not stupid enough to make that a blanket statement about you. There is currently a member here with post after post calling AA's racists. Those posts are left to stand and I don't think it says anything about your character. Not sure why you think it does. Then again you have insinuated I am a racist and anti-Semitic and have never backed up your insinuations. Maybe those other posts do say something more about your character and I'm the one that is wrong. I really don't think so. Unlike you, I believe the first post I mentioned aren't a direct reflection of you.

Once again, this must be the issues I keep hearing about. Better than talking about Sanders fighting relentlessly against a pathway to citizenship for over ten million people. You know he teamed up with the most vile of republicans to ensure they wouldn't pass the bill? Pretty bad form putting economics ahead of the oppression of over ten million.

Fact is you would much rather talk about this than Sanders recent opposition to a path to citizenship. The political family favors he has received. A known failed military project he fought for. Numerous votes to arm armies that aren't friendly to anyone.

Really bad form to claim when someone doesn't talk bad about random things on random sites that they then must support them. Not a single honest thought goes into that thought process.

Do you have links showing both of these positions are unpaid. I do think it would be fair for me to add that to my comments if it is factual though it has no bearing on the blatant cronyism. Thanks.

I'm not interested in following DUers to other websites. I've had people do that to me, looking for stuff they can use against me at sites I haven't been on for many, many years. I find such behavior to be ugly and useless. So I don't do that. Many DUers post at other places on the Internet. That's up to them. I don't follow people around the Internet.

Moreover, when I find threads on DU where someone is following DUers around the Internet, I don't read beyond the OP of the thread. I find the whole process objectionable. If someone posts vile stuff on DU and I see it, I will respond to it. What they post elsewhere is of no interest to me, and I don't have the time to follow up on what someone says about what was posted.

You will do as you please, of course. We all have agency over our actions.

I do not go to other sites, following people. I simply do not. I have no idea what "site administrator" you're talking about. The only site administrators I follow are Skinner, EarlG, and Elad, the administrators of this website. You are not listening to me. This is the political discussion forum I visit - the only one. Further, I do not read threads where discussions of other websites are taking place. So, you're talking about things I know nothing about, nor want to know about.

I haven't even read this thread. I posted in it from the OP and have only read and replied to posts connected to that reply. I choose what I read on DU, just like everyone else does.

for most DUers, like the cave, it's best left to its own boring devices. But sad is a good word for people who can't get along with others and who deceive others for whatever reason.

Can't imagine pretending to be something I am not for any reason, but it takes all kinds I guess.

As for what you think about my view on the ACA, and how it might be improved, I honestly could not care less. From what I've seen you post, your views on politics aren't worth much to begin with.

You wrote a silly OP with a BS premise. I critiqued it as such. Whether you agree with me or not does not effect me in the slightest.

I do get the sense that you think Bernie will be able to Bully Pulpit the GOP into supporting Medicare for All.

Good luck with that.

Emphasis on 'attempting'.

I'll also give you this: you are the only Hillary supporter who could even attempt to come up with one thing Hillary could "get done". The fact that is was 'might get the House GOP, who have attempted to repeal the ACA 54 times, to vote to EXPAND it' puts the nail in the 'Bernie won't get anything done' talking point.

Sun Sep 27, 2015, 03:55 PM
Sep 2015

After all, we're supposed to take Bernie's supporters as an indicator of his aren't we?

Well, then.

As hillarysupporters.com is an independent site frequented by people that support Hillary and a candidate's supporters are supposed to be taken as pertinent information regarding the candidate, I think we can make the same assumptions about the kind of person Hillary must be from her supporters as we are all frequently told we can make about Bernie from the qualities of his.

Unless the idea that a candidate's qualities are relatable to those of their supporters is a really headcrackingly fucking stupid idea, of course, which observation you are, of course, free to make.

In either case, the thread isn't "off-topic" at all, unless every single thread ever posted here about Bernie Sanders supporters is also off topic.

So, there you go.
