(58,785 posts)we will win. It would be critical that the interest Bernie has stirred up not die back into the usual youth apathy. I only hope Bernie is able to lead right up to 2016, whether he wins the primary or not.

(58,785 posts)In addition to interest from the mainstream, both leaders spark/sparked particular excitement to the far right and far left. Notably, though, the far right has a particularly good "sticking" record after the primary.

from an old simple song, "San Francisco," and I realized the combination of Bernie's campaign and this amazing pope was stirring a sense of hope and possibility I haven't felt since the mid-70s.
The video you show, "I Believe In The Good Things Coming," really brings it to life.
Now, having read the grudge-forum elsewhere, I know this will make them laugh. So let them laugh in their bitterness.
But those crowds. Those crowds ...

(19,926 posts)Let this serve as an example to all that there IS alert stalking going on. We saw proof of it yesterday with the screenshot of GerogeII's post on another site saying he's going after cali for her 5th hide.
This post was tame compared to others, as I mentioned as Juror #4 below, there are entire OPs that are written against Bernie supporters.
But keep this type of alert in mind when you post. There is a group of Hillary supporters who are angry and extremely hateful and they are plotting against us. We've seen the evidence. If you missed it, it has to do with hillaryclintonsupporters.com and there are a few OPs about that on here. And it is very, very ugly over there.
Just shows you how superficial Hillary supporters are.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Blanket attack on DUers.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Sep 26, 2015, 12:28 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Pretty broad-brushed and stupid characterization. Hide worthy.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: meh
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I'm really teetering on this one. As a whole, if it were done fairly across the board, and if the board were civil, I would say hide. But considering that there are entire OPs written disparaging Bernie supporters that are rec'd and applauded and left standing where they don't belong, makes me think it is not hide worthy.
Then, after reading the alerter's comments and seeing they are saying this is a "blanket attack on DUers" I have to say, I don't see DUers mentioned in the post at all, unless there are no people outside of DU that support Hillary or that all DUers support Hillary, neither of which is remotely accurate.
So Leave. It's a bad alert all around.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This post is needlessly malicious, not to mention, just plain stupid.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Oh please. There's no TOS violation here.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(19,926 posts)there's just a concerted effort to silence those they disagree with.

(13,842 posts)To me it has to be a personal attack against a specific person or be overly profane. Simply pointing out that people who just react to a label rather than looking at the message are superficial doesn't seem that offensive.

(11,945 posts)Sheesh, I once called a priest "superficial" to his face. Or was is it shallow? Hmm, calling a certain group "shallow" would probably also get an alert.
However, suppose one were to call someone "lacking in depth?" Means the exact same thing. Alertable as well?
Wonder if they'll start alerting on our smilies next?

(19,926 posts)Especially three times in a row. I believe they have it trademarked.

(11,945 posts)I think it makes them feel better since they use it mainly when they think they've just landed a zinger onto someone else. Or when they want to ridicule some inconvenient truth.
Gawd knows we want them to feel better; they'd be so much nicer to have around. I think.

(32,012 posts)especially since I read on their own site that they are afraid that Bernie will raid widows' retirement accounts. They are worried about their investment accounts yet accusing Bernie of driving expensive cars. Smh.

(5,761 posts)What's she going to talk about? How's she's innocent with Benghazi? How she's now against KXL? Whitewater? Maybe the email scandal? She'll sit there and look like a pigeon rehashing old talking points from 8 years ago. I say let her. Hillary's message is stale, old and contrived.

So now her handlers are trying to make her seem more authentic.

(47,803 posts)Again, I am glad to see it, and it's a positive sign. Especially since he was an unknown until recently,

(19,926 posts)The people came to see Bernie because they wanted to. He was reserving 400 capacity venues and had to change them to 4,000, then 20,000 people. Not because he was working towards getting the crowds, because the people WANTED to come see him, in droves. He couldn't keep them away if he tried.
Hillary just doesn't have the excitement about her to draw those people in. And that's because she's the same old same old that people are tired of. Bernie is getting the crowds because he is exciting them with his positions and his speeches. And the people know he is not just saying what they want him to hear, he is saying what he believes and if they want to hear it they can come out and listen. And they DO want to hear it. Finally the people have someone who doesn't pander to them and actually believes in them. That just isn't who Hillary is, she just doesn't get the same fired up crowds, she doesn't generate that enthusiasm and excitement. We've already seen that. The pics above tell the story.
Armstead
(47,803 posts)she does have a lot of supporters, and is capable of generating crowds. And will likely do so.
I'm not trying to throw cold water. Just don't want something to come back to bite us by overselling the importance of that.
cui bono
(19,926 posts)the people showed up in droves because they are hungry for someone authentic like him. Hillary didn't get the same response. It's just a simple fact. Perhaps she can generate the crowds if she tries. But Bernie does it without trying.
TBF
(32,012 posts)in bigger arenas because the initial meeting rooms aren't big enough when the rsvp's start coming in. No one predicted this kind of response. People are responding to him because they know he's telling the truth.
Not anywhere near it. I was responding to another OP in GD: P this morning in which it was stated that no one will vote for Bernie. I don't think that is based on anything but wishful dreams. People like Bernie!
