Related: About this forumWhat does HRC's logo intend to signify?
I keep wondering who created/brainstormed HRC's campaign logo, what the arrow pointing rightward is intended to convey, and what are Hillary supporters impression(s) of it.? What does it mean?
Just curious..

(7,321 posts)That's the part that's a bit confusing. Because as you say, "obviously", then I should understand that my first impressions were correct. The concept is intended to convey moving "Rightward" is synonymous with "forward". Thank you.

Psychologically, people raised in this culture and with this language associate a rightward arrow with forward. If you grew up somewhere else, with a different language, this would explain why you don't have the same association.

(7,321 posts)I'm a former "military brat". Dad was in the Marines, I was born in Atlanta, partly raised in N.C. (Camp Lejeune), Orange County (Ca.) and Oahu.
I've never associated right ward arrows as synonymous with Progress or moving Forward. Wonder how I missed that? Rightward arrows always conveyed "move to the Right only" as in street signs.

Or maybe they want it to mean she is headed in the right direction of her followers.

The republicans want to kill women, further restrict voting rights, make the poor suffer more.
But Hillary's logo is confusing so we need to discuss it over and over again because Hillary's bad and anything she does or touches is also bad.

(130,537 posts)But I don't think it's a very good design for several reasons - the most obvious is that the arrow also could easily be interpreted as indicating rightward movement. There was a lot of discussion about this when the logo first appeared. The whole design strikes me as clumsy and unimaginative, regardless of how you interpret the arrow. My opinion of the logo has nothing to do with my opinion of the candidate - I'm looking at it only from the perspective of design. Just saying, I'd have wanted something a little more fluid and less susceptible to conflicting interpretations.

(26,117 posts)The logo is the logo. It isn't going to change. It's not a code revealing that she's a closet Republican. It has 0% to do with the actual primary. There are plenty of valid reasons not to support her as the nominee; the logo isn't one of them.

The DLC and Third Way were created to move the Democratic party farther to the right. Naturally, a Third Way candidate would be more interested in promoting a bipartisan agenda, promoting liberal social policies while promoting economic policies that are favorable to wealthy private interests. The traditional Democratic Party has generally always been more populist. The traditional Republican party has for at least over a century been known as the party of the wealthy and of corporate interests.
Hillary's logo symbolizes Democrats moving to the right.

(19,807 posts)Hillary to the left with great force. She is indicating that she is going to be way to the left of everyone else. The people just don't know it yet. That is the only explanation is that she is moving to the right. It has to me moving otherwise you would not have an arrow. An arrow always denotes motion.
