(62,325 posts)candidate. So for that we should probably be grateful to those who engage in such tactics.
Bernie never had a 'problem with AAs', it was always pretty laughable, but we watched the talking point with interest as it gave us an idea of what Corporate Money will buy to try to stop the people from having fair elections based on issues, not fabrications and it has revealed more than was intended. Bernie handled it magnificently. Showing all the character traits of the kind of leader this country so badly needs which is why the more people who hear him, see his consistent record and his sincerity the more support he gets.
And that is why we are seeing the negative, desperate falsehoods, but there now literally hundreds of thousands of people who are going to expose every single attempt at a smear campaign, as they did with Brock, a right wing opportunist which any campaign should be ashamed to be associated with.
That leopard never changed its spots, which people generally never expected but now have seen it in action.
However he did manage to raise over one million dollars for Bernie, so there is that. Same thing will happen each time these Corporate funded smear mongers engage in their dirty tricks.

SoapBox
(18,791 posts)But we couldn't even go in that group to say hello without getting banned...it's a very hostile area.
It is disgusting and frankly disappointing to continue with the racist attacks.

(12,958 posts)For suggesting that some timeouts were earned.
When I searched the name of the person who banned me, I found a thread from 2008 where the same person was viciously ripping Hillary to shreds. Thin skinned hypocrites.

(2,760 posts)...long ago for simply suggesting that both sides have over-zealous supporters. I self-deleted the post when someone objected, but got banned anyway.
It is a true "feather in my cap."

(17,196 posts)I knew I was banned.
It's telling that, as of this post, the Hillary group has less than 1/3 as many subscribers as does Bernie's, yet almost twice the number of blocked members.
There are some pretty reactionary folks around here, yes indeed.

(62,325 posts)enough people know what it was all about. It sure hasn't done any harm to Bernie, as we see every day, but for Hillary, it's been a disaster with more and more AAs abandoning her, decent people don't like to be lied to, and going to help Bernie.
So if they want to keep on hurting their own candidate, who are we to stop them? The facts cannot be distorted re Bernie they are far too consistent and impressive. As the millions now supporting him, increasing every day, demonstrate.

(3,597 posts)What are you saying here? That Sanders is a racist, or doesn't have a problem with racism? Are you saying that, if asked, he won't deny being a racist? Is that it? Is that really what you're saying? I can't even tell from the responses what the hell is really going on here.

If you claim Sanders thinks "There is no racism", you have ZERO credibility.
"ZERO credibility." = you have not done your research.
Better?

(18,998 posts)Warren says something and that means Sanders did not say it...Warren speaks out about racism which means Sanders does not care about it...no matter what his 40 years of actions were.
That is how you make memes. And they are using the RW principle of attacking the strenth...it has been going on for a while now. They are trying to keep black people away from Sanders.
MindfulOne
(227 posts)It has been suggested that Sanders said that we have moved beyond racism in this country (denies it exists) when, in fact, he's said nothing like that.
Thus, this OP is a reaction to those false and very sad accusations made by people who have difficulty seeing him better their candidate.
They are desperate.

(13,006 posts)Is denying racism like denying Jesus? Are we supposed to embrace racism?
I didn't get it either, but after reading some other posts, I think it was basically missing a word... I think he meant to say "If you claim Sanders denies racism exists, you have ZERO credibility"
But yeah, it's a strange and confusing thread. But not as strange and confusing as the fact that over 30 people have already recommended a thread that basically says nothing, and says it badly.

(62,325 posts)is now hidden by a jury. Lies and distortions do need to be pointed out and dealt with right away and if this is how the Hillary campaign is going to be conducted, we've already seen enough to know that clearly it will be a dirty campaign, then hundreds of thousands of people will be ready to expose the lies and whenever possible, those who are behind. As happened with the slimy 'blinded by money' Brock this week.
Sanders doesn't and never has run a negative campaign, didn't stop him from winning. And these Corporate paid for smear campaigns are destroying our electoral system depriving the voters of fair elections based on the issues.
THIS campaign, maybe for the first time, is going to be about exposing them, responding to them as fast as possible, spreading the word far and wide, because the people are sick to death of this kind of nasty deceitful politics.

(13,006 posts)It makes much more sense to simply put your comment in the original thread. Sometimes it seems people just think their comment is so important that it must be its own OP.
But at least here the OP had a reason to go this way, because the lock prevented the comment from being posted in the original thread. Whether his comment was so compelling that it simply had to be heard is debatable, but who am I to say. Not too many of my OPs have gotten 50+ recs.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)in an OP which apparently in this case, the op decided the distortion deserved, then, rather than act as Dems have done for far too long, 'let it go', THIS TIME every lie, every distortion will be given the attention the author of these lies thought they deserved, only not in a way they intended.
Brock's lies eg were instantly sent around the WORLD with exposure of how this campaign apparently is going to go. That helped raise over one million dollars, so highlighting ever attempt to derail this campaign can be turned around to benefit the target of these deceivers and if they don't want that to happen, best way to avoid it is to stop trying to deceive people. It won't be let go this time even the small lies need to be addressed as we have learned over the years.
So, iow, if the lie is 'so compelling that it needed to be heard' then so is the response. Both can be eliminated by simple sticking to the facts and the truth.
