Yes that's her on the left hand of the picture

(9,314 posts)Hillary Clinton took aim at Florida Republicans during a campaign stop here on Friday, assailing Gov. Rick Scott and the Legislature for their positions on climate change, health care, and economic inequality.
Speaking to a crowd of about 1,000 supporters at a gymnasium inside Broward College, Clinton criticized Republicans for not expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
"Your governor and the Republicans in Tallahassee, they said 'no,'" Clinton said. "They said 'no' to savings, they said 'no' to families, 'no' to fairness. And to make matters worse, because they said 'no' and refuse to expand Medicaid people are suffering. It makes no economic sense."
Clinton's appearance in the pivotal swing state came just days after flooding soaked the streets of South Florida, which coincided with a climate change summit hosted by her husband's former vice president, Al Gore.

This is from the schools' own site on the place she spoke.
'The Omni Auditorium is a true multi-purpose facility, capable of hosting events ranging from opera to basketball tournaments. Depending on the configuration selected, the facility can seat 1,900+ to view a show presented on our stage or allow three simultaneous court games to be played. ''
http://broward.edu/community/facility/Pages/default.aspx
So that is seated capacity and doesn't include standing in the basketball playing area........

(80,708 posts)After the shows dudes piled out of vans with stacks of em to sell.
How do I know? I bought one, too. Fuck, i know good tie dye vs. mediocre, and the shirts inside were better.. but i didnt want to be stuck inside immobile with the need to carry around my merch blues, if you get my drift. What can i say? I was in "shut up and take my money" mode.
So short answer, i have the same shirt. Exact same. On the back it says grateful dead 50 and has a picture of Jerry.

(36,988 posts)I bow to your expertise........ I wonder if its made from hemp or something?...LOL

Broward county has a population of 1.8 million and is a Democratic stronghold.

(1,683 posts)Despite the overwhelming Democratic registration advantage, the party hierarchy here seems to think that chartering buses to bring elderly Jewish retirees from the over-55 condos to the polls is all they need to do to GOTV. Even when the primaries are over the Democratic candidate will have a tough time mobilizing Broward Democrats.

(48,962 posts)Clinton is choosing the most left-leaning county for one of her first public appearances in Florida. When she appeared at the National Urban League in Fort Lauderdale and at Florida International University on July 31, those events were targeted to a specific topic for example, her opposition to the Cuba embargo at FIU and to a segment of voters, including African Americans.
This time she isnt coming to speak on a particular topic or to a subset of Democratic voters she is pitching herself to the left more broadly in an attempt to get people excited about her campaign.

(36,988 posts)So 700 to 1200
seems to be the estimate from different sources which doesn't negate the fact
the place seats 2000
AtomicKitten
(46,585 posts)And all photos I've seen corroborate that. Estimates for attendance ranged from 1,200 to "hundreds.". Also she arrived about an hour late and some people left.
