Obama was approximately 3.5 pts ahead of McCain on August 10, 2008. Further ahead of Romney today.

That means nothing. Each guy has a solid 45-47%. Polls move and unexpected things happen. GOTV is everything this election.

some Hilary Clinton supporters were very angry for a while. Most came back.

The primary did get a bit nasty and went on for a long time.
