They weren't. Sanders was always full of himself: pious, self-righteous and utterly humorless.


Notice the colon - their definition of him being 'full of himself' is that he's pious, self-righteous and utterly humorless. It's not enough to be right about things, apparently, unless you can do so with false humilty and self-deprecating humour.

I am a Sanders supporter but I would no sooner dig up a story about Clinton being a meanie than dig up a story about Sanders being a meanie. Everyone should agree that such stories should be ignored.
