(60,010 posts)Surprise for me was how well Hillary performed and how she came across. I have seen/heard her being much more strident.

(16,177 posts)Hillary did very well.
Bernie rocked, not quite as good as I thought he would do, but good.
Having Webb, Chafee and OMalley on stage was helpful too. It made the Democratoc spectrum seem like a map (Chafee's defense of Snowden, for example, which is similar to Bernie even though he is right-leaning) rather than a 2D spectrum.

(52,589 posts)Some of course did better than others but it was so nice to see a rational discussion of the issues.

(17,600 posts)Calling O'Malley the winner because he made a very good showing in front of a lot of people who didn't really know him. Sanders and Clinton didn't really show anything new, and people already know who they are.

(14,881 posts)A serious debate on the issues.
And Bernie won. Hillary did better than I expected, but flubbed with the gender card, on marijuana, the Iraq war, and other things I've forgotten now.

(59,503 posts)Winner: Sanders though Clinton was more polished, but if you really want change I don't think HRC answering that she is female does it. I also think HRC had two weird answers. It was surreal to hear her say every one changed on an issue or two. It was also a mistake to say the phrase that she represented Wall Street. There were a few Bernie answers that seemed unfocused.

(65,173 posts)Thought Hillary leaned on being a woman too much to separate her. O'Malley needed to do more to get attention to his campaign. Webb could be a moderate Republican. Chafee made good points about Snowden and Iraq, but seemed to get the least time. Overall though, it was very enjoyable to watch.

Loss: Clinton, could you be anymore of a transparent professional politician trying to sound like Bernie Sanders without the record to back it up. Typical Windsock Hillary, I thought you would have learned this lesson from 08, smh.
