The Winner of the Debate Was the Democratic Party And America

The Winner of the Debate Was the Democratic Party And America

Now that the first Democratic debate is over, the contrast between Democrats and Republicans could not be clearer. Democrats showed Tuesday night they want to give people the means to be successful and are optimistic about the future of our country after a dismal start to this century. They had absolutely no problem linking themselves to President Obama’s star, so maybe some other 2016 candidates (Hey there Senate races!) will follow suit. The Democrats explained how they want to give every American hope and the ability to take part in this experiment called the United States. They want to show that America can once again be the democratic example to lead the world.

The Democrats running for president don’t want to exclude anyone or put up walls that keep people out. A wall symbolizes a vision for America that places limits on what you can be. Democrats want you to have a chance, even if you’re from a poor neighborhood or from a broken home or considered a minority.

Republicans running for president want you to be afraid. Fearful of people who aren’t like you. Fearful the next problem will become a crisis. So fearful that you become untrustworthy and only include a small circle of people in your hopes and dreams. There is no nuance in these Republicans’ worlds, only right or wrong, yes or no, left or right. Democrats showed Tuesday night that they understand that life and lives are complicated and worthy of our compassion.

These Republicans want you to be on your own and let “the market” decide your fate. This approach promotes selfishness, which is not what America needs now or ever. It’s sad, because Republicans weren’t always like this.

Finally, the Democrats running for president showed America that having policy prescriptions rather than simplistic ideologies to address America’s challenges promotes the kind of discussion that leads to solutions rather than demagoguery.

It is wishful thinking that the rwnj(s) could have any type of favorable reaction to the debates, but what the debates did for me as a hardcore Bernie supporter was to open my eyes and accept the validity of Clinton and O'Malley. The candidates seemed to display that the goal of Democrats can be more than oneupmanship - that the success of the party depends on us and not them. If nothing else viewers may begin to realize that we have more than one acceptable candidate. This is GDP though, and we will fight among ourselves.

I was very happy with most of their performance.

Like I said, I would support any of them come general election. What a stark contrast to the clown show with Trump a little while ago.

Last night, the American people saw how each and every one of the Democratic candidates are far better POTUS material than that clown car called the GOP.

All of them carried the night like responsible adults.

Although there were some pretty pointed references to each others' records and positions at last night's Democratic debate, it was clear that they respected each other and got along with each other. I wonder if people in today's Republican party are capable of that. We certainly know that today's Republican politicians are not.

are coming for the clown car, the right wing senate and the right wing house, you have been given your notice and your ginned up congressional panel has been put on notice about the deaths in Libya, Sanders got it right, the "right wing congress has been defunding security for the foreign based officers" and Clinton was thankful to get the support from Sanders, instead of a gimmick by a moderator to gin up ratings, and the issue was cut off by Sanders for Clinton and the American people got there standing ovation in that moment of graciousness and compassion-------------------enough is enough, lets talk ISSUES.

And while sitting in some 35 million dollar office "tweeting" and having another moment in his ego of narcissistic platitudes, (who cares), and then having it being reported as some major development by the MSM, will not cut it, this is not a rating game to make money for some failed corporate oligarchy system of news blather, this is a ISSUES orientated election.

This is a ISSUES election, I repeat this is a ISSUES election.

AND WE THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY ARE GOING TO MAKE IT A ISSUES ELECTION

Wages, Trade, Homelessness, Guns, Climate, Immigration, Education, U.S. Supreme Court, Citizens United, Planned Parenthood, Social Security, Medicare, For Profit Prisons, Unions, Poverty, Drugs---------------you name it , IT'S about the Issues

And I felt the Bern again when Bernie said that this is a political revolution, it is about the Issues

Honk------------------for a political revolution Bernie 2016

the Democrat Party is failing to register voters at Sanders events where thousands of people are showing up. Yes, the candidates are sticking to issues and not name calling, but the Party is being mismanaged this election cycle.

And I love the fact that Bernie Sanders is in this race!

Win or lose the primary, he has been the "game change" of this election. His candidacy forces all other candidates to adopt progressive policies, and once they go progressive, they can't go back. With Bernie in the race, we ALL win!

March on, Democrats!

Bernie's candidacy forces everyone left in the primary, and they won't be able to win the general if they go back on their primary words.

Thanks, Bernie!
