A DU poll regarding online polls

So how many online polls did you vote in after the Democratic debate?

If you didn't vote in any online polls, please choose the PASS option.

time's disclaimer is a bit more expanded and looks more like the disclaimers from the old days. Any other "old time" DUers remember any of this? "Quick! DU this poll!!!111 It's being freeped!!!!" I also learned that you can vote then clear your cache used to vote as many times as you like. That was about the time I stopped bothering to even read online polls.

Oh, remember those disclaimers? Like the one below used by time about the DNC debate.

In the absence of that, we can account for Rasmussen or Gravis or anyone else by applying their normal error rate.

We can apply that error rate because they are scientific polls and we know from past experience that they are off by 3-5 percent.

The number of American's who doubt whether Obama is a Christian.

The number of American's who think President Obama wasn't born in the US.

The number of American's who can't find Israel on a map; or any other country in the Middle East or Northern Africa for that matter.

At the end of the day, the headlines read like this:

"How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB?"

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/international_papers/2004/11/brits_to_america_youre_idiots.html

I came to DU long ago to get away from r/w tactics, lies, obfuscation, and dirty tricks. I didn't come here to use those tactics on fellow Democrats; no matter how I feel about the party. The r/wers can do their own freaking work. The stenographic media gives them enough help.

If those are the only scientific polls available, apply the curve and be done with it.

Felt it was appropriate as they had hosted it.

Also the Slate poll, because I had seen someone talking about it.

And the DailyKos poll, because I came across it while wandering the internet.

If memory serves, way back in the day, someone, through a bot or other fancy coding means, discovered a way to vote a bunch of times in DU polls. That person was banned. Here was the resulting TOS section:

Don't post malicious code or mess with the software.

Do not attempt to intentionally interfere with or exploit the operation of the Democratic Underground website or discussion forums (eg. by "post bombing" or using any other flooding techniques, by attempting to circumvent any restrictions placed on your account by the forum software, etc.) Do not post messages that contain software viruses, Trojan horses, worms, or any malware or computer code designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware.
