Biden Says Predecessor Cheney Is a ‘Decent Man’

“I actually like Dick Cheney for real,” Vice President Joe Biden says at moderated discussion with former Vice President Walter Mondale at George Washington University.

Cheney was a “powerful” vice president who had his own national security staff; “he had a very different relationship with President Bush,” Biden says

* Biden says he volunteered to cede most of that shadow team to Obama’s first national security adviser, didn’t want a satellite operation

* The relationship between Cheney and President George W. Bush was more “codependent”

Mondale disagrees with Biden’s compliments of Cheney, saying while the Republican was personally “kind to me,” “he said early on that he was going to take things to the dark side” and did

Ben Carson's ultra-mild and mellow posturing has definitely struck a chord with a large group of the easily fooled on the right. Maybe Biden's getting inspiration from that? If so, how he would carry off being everyone's friend but Hillary's would be interesting.

I am not a fraction as smart as Hillary Clinton but I would own Joe Biden in a debate for saying Dick Cheney is a "decent man" and the Republican aren't our enemies:

Joe- "the Republicans are our friends and Dick Cheney is a decent man."

Me- "Was Dick Cheney a decent man when he basically called Barack Obama a traitor and called him the worst president in history. Were the GOP our friends when they called Barack Obama an illegal alien and shouted "you lie" during his State Of the Union speech...

Republican Dick Cheney called him a traitor, Republican Joe Wilson called him a liar , and House Republicans started a petition to demand his birth certificate. Hillary can certainly call them out for their perfidy. The fact Joe Biden gave her an opening you can drive an eighteen wheeler through indicates to me he really doesn't want to be pres or he has the political acumen of a city councilperson in some small suburban city.

And the question was "what enemies have you made that you are most proud of" Hillary can say the Republicans hate President Obama and they hate me too.

I had a forced early retirement and have plenty of time... If Biden wants sound political advice. He should hire me. I will work cheap.

Few Democrats believe that the man who called Barack Obama a traitor:

I vacillate between the various theories I’ve heard, but you know, if you had somebody as president who wanted to take America down, who wanted to fundamentally weaken our position in the world and reduce our capacity to influence events, turn our back on our allies and encourage our adversaries, it would look exactly like what Barack Obama’s doing...“I think his actions are constituted in my mind those of the worst president we’ve ever had."

-Dick Cheney

is a "decent guy"

Hillary would deliver it more in sorrow than in anger.

Dick Cheney, a nice guy!!!

P.S. Legal definition of a traitor- Under Article III, Section 3, of the Constitution, any person who levies war against the United States or adheres to its enemies by giving them Aid and Comfort has committed treason within the meaning of the Constitution

But saying Cheney is a decent guy and making nice with the Republicans is not a winning strategy in a Democratic primary.

All one has to do is cite all the calumnies the GOP has perpetrated on his president.

If he watched the debates and all he could come with to separate himself from Hillary is that she said she made enemies of the Republicans and he likes them doesn't speak well of his political acumen.

But Biden strikes me as having an even bigger ego than the average presidential candidate. He got almost no support in his two previous runs, polls show he has less than 20% of the vote despite very high name recognition, and a plurality of Democrats don't want him to run. But he's still considering a run.

Now he's changing his story about the Osama bin Laden raid and praising Dick Cheney. Way to go, Joe.
