Related: About this forum2008 Republican voter turnout in Florida: 1.95MM people
Tonight's vote looks like it will be around 1.77MM people. If they can't get a turnout in their own primary (and Marco Rubio being rumored on the short list for VP)...I wonder how well they are going to do with turning out the Republican voter in the GE? Sucks to be a Republican voter this cycle with the choices they have.

(37,540 posts)2. It's in the subject line - 2008 primary turnout was 1.95 million.
The 2012 number looks to be about 10% under that turnout. Since this is the core of the Party that historically turns out for the primaries, I'd think that this does not bode well for the Republican GOTV next November.

(14,348 posts)3. The FL turnout is noticeably lower than 2008 while the SC turnout was significantly higher than '08.
The SC turnout probably doesn't matter since Obama probably won't win the state. However these Florida numbers are probably raising a red flag upon the Rethug insiders and establishment.
