2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumthe best thing I love about this campaign is the difference between the people...
Every time i see a crowd of liberals I see a whole lot of young faces with home made signs and interesting costumes...
On the conservative side, well, a lot of gray haired people my age and older holding up either signs that show these folks can't spell for shit or slick signs made at tea bag central.
A lot of scowls on the GOP side while the Democrats seem to attract people who are excited about the campaign and hope for the future, big smiles and a lot of kinetic energy.
It's amazing that we are finally seeing the selfish conservatives shuffling off stage while the young faces are bursting all over...
I'm still worried about Pennsylvania but here in Ohio, anyone can vote absentee.
If we lose PA and keep Ohio, that would be okay, not great, but okay.
The number one priority of the National Democratic Party is to do what ever they can to get into those states that have blatant voter suppression rules and fight them.

(149,611 posts)Just the make-up of the crowds all by itself is something to behold. And the energy! Obama's people are jumping all over the place, trying to get to him, handing him their babies, laughing and high-fiving him!
While Romney's crowds are sullen, quiet, and pure white. NO energy, no high-fiving, no babies handed over for the precious photo-op.
These groups could hardly be less alike.

(1,197 posts)Watch it. I'm older than dirt and I've been a vocal Democrat for a long long time. The only Republican I ever voted for was Eisenhower...who would be a snarling leftist in today's world, and that was my first time out.
Age isn't what separates the two party crowds. Knowledge of facts is what really separates them. Along with attitude, which has been mentioned.

(22,896 posts)Their attitude is what stands out in sharp contrast to the repug crowds, who seem to either stand there as stiff as boards, or else have the most frightening frowns on their faces. Or both.
Yes, quite a contrast!!!

(15,220 posts)Seriously, that's what I see.
Obama supporters believe in a hope that things can get better, that things can turn around and be positive. That there is still some good in mankind, as a whole.
Romney supporters just excude hate. There is no discussing an issue with them. If you don't agree with them, they hate you because you're not like them. There is no room for any individuality.
