If theres anyone that should be elected to the White House, its him. He stands for everybody, whether youre gay or Muslim or black or Christian or Latino. He is for equality. Thats why I identify with the next president of the United States: Bernie Sanders....
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) invited a Muslim college student onstage with him during his speech in Fairfax, Virginia on Wednesday after she alluded to Islamophobic political rhetoric, Think Progress reported.

As Abdelgader spoke, Sanders invited her toward the stage and hugged her. As she finished her question, the senator led her to his podium by the hand before delivering his answer.
The Democratic presidential candidate also said Abdelgader was absolutely correct in mentioning the anger being generated toward not only Muslims, but immigrants.

What is so encouraging is that it isn't working anymore. People really are uniting around this completely honest man.
He is the real thing and his simple message and total honesty is why people are going to elect him to the WH.
Because this country so badly needs some healing from the brutal assault it and all of us have undergone at the hands of those who have grabbed and bought our government.

(20,582 posts)I know the abuse he's already taken, and will face much more of as the months go on has got to be hard on him ... even if he publicly brushes it off and seems to be able to turn all conversation back to the issues, but I feel sad for him. He obviously loves his country and the people in it very, very much to do this. It's hard even from up here to watch him being so ignored in the MSM, when his town halls, rallies and speeches are so inspiring and on point, and just what many people in the world need to hear, imho.
What he did here clearly shows the man he is.
I think he's genuine, brilliant, compassionate, empathetic, dedicated, and very, very brave.
