"In case your daily briefing doesn't include it, Bill Schneider tells me that the CNN poll shows you at 71 percent favorability, seven points above Obama at 64 (higher than any recent president at this point)," wrote Blumenthal in a message titled "FYI..." from March 25, 2009, pointing to the fact that Clinton's image among Republicans in particular was stronger as well. "You've achieved supra-political status, not anti-political or apolitical (they know who you are) ... and recent polls show that the Democrats are likely to pick up three Senate seats in 2010 ...." Blumenthal added that the two factors combined would present a "unique opening" later on.

(22,000 posts)No one should be surprised she was looking at doing that. I wouldn't put it past her to have challenged Obama in 2012 if she thought the opportunity was there (obviously it wasn't).

Emails show that "...Hillary Clinton had been eyeing a presidential run since her first few weeks as Secretary of State in the Obama administration..."
"I've said I really don't believe that thats something I will do again," Clinton said of a presidential bid. "I am so grateful I had the experience of doing it before. I think there are lots of ways to serve, so I'll continue to serve."

I have a furtile imagination and I have come up with some soapy ones but I cannot post them here.

You perked my curiosity.
My brother and his girl friend were talking about the craziness and I was snowed in over christmas and thought I would get it on hulu and watch an episode or two. Marathon. It is a hell of a sugar high...be warned. It is bat shit crazy and makes very little logic and everyone is pretty vile in their own way.
But I may have an addictive personality. I kind of see DU as another one of my soaps.

(22,000 posts)It pisses me off every time Liv gets back with that lowlife SOB. I really hate Melly (but she is a hell of an actress though) and also that bastard Cyrus. My favorite character is actually Quinn and Huck. It sounds sick, but I love the parts when he's doing his "thing" and was teaching Quinn how to do what he does.

(62,269 posts)Though this just looks like one of Sidney Blumenthal's crazy emails where he basically emailed Clinton on an daily basis for years. What surprised me was that Clinton forwarded a few of his emails, indicating that she read them.
Rumor has it that Clinton wanted the SoS position for "party unity" (more to bankroll her "credentials" and said Bill would stump for him in 2012 in return for an endorsement and backing. It's no wonder most of her team is former Obama people.

(37,364 posts)I never expected her not to run again. Secretary of State is not a life long appointment and many cabinet officers leave after serving one term. Did you expect her to not keep an eye to her future? Would you have questioned a man having career ambitions? Why should a woman not aspire to be the leader of a nation?
I have a couple of intelligent and lively little granddaughters who I want to see dream their dreams and live them. I want to see them thrive in a nation free of the type of attitude that article implies.
If Sanders supporters want to catapault Victorian era attitudes about the place of women in society, proceed. It will get you nowhere.

(11,573 posts)for The Angel in the House, dude. As Virginia Wolf summarized it, "If there was a draft, she sat in it; if there was chicken for supper, she ate the neck."
Of course she's ambitious. You have to have an ego the size of the White House to run for it. That includes Bernie, who apparently considered running against Obama in 2012.
Give up the sexist drivel. This OP should embarrass the hell out of you. It doesn't look good on you or your candidate.
