2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWouldn't it be great if DWS decided CNBC would be a great moderator for one of our debates?
It would show the public how a real debate is conducted and let the moderators do their thing. How bad could it be?

(11,641 posts)I know that it's a town hall rather than a debate but it will still be much better than the CNBC food fight debate.

(1,644 posts)in the original meaning of the term, since the invention of television. What today is euphemistically called, a "debate", is just a glorified press conference. A real traditional debate would entail each candidate laying out their positions and allowing them to interact with and question each other. "Moderators" should be irrelevant to the process.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
