(22,271 posts)I know I sound like a broken record but when we were out at one of our local colleges tabling for Bernie I met hundreds of millennials. They're smart, they're informed and they're not getting completely sidetracked by sex, drugs and rock and roll like we did. After talking to these guys I truly do have hope for the future.

That one represents rejecting the economic model of someone else from the last century.

(18,579 posts)As one who has watched these election wars for years you always see the same vehemanance on the part of followers.
In the 2000 election I was berated angrily by my Democratic Friends because I did not jump on the Obama bandwagon. This happens in every election. After seeing what he stood for I happily voted for him.
But am very happy to see younger posters join in. You are the future of the party so feel free to discuss.
Welcome.

(2,760 posts)I'm anything but a millennial; I turn 75 in two weeks. It's wonderful to see you committed and working for a better future. I have no children, but lots of grand nieces and nephews in your age group and I see hope where I have been very depressed for too long in the wilderness. I marched and fought for many of the things Bernie does. He has been there from beginning and fought the hard battle.
Good to have you here. If we fight hard, we can win.

Your view is deadly accurate, and should be as clear as day to any democratic voter. As noted recently here, many of her supporters realize that she's a two faced political wind sock. They have managed to twist her lack of principles into an asset in their minds. OTOH, the only two honest reasons for voting for Clinton are 1) she's a woman, and we have to have a woman president now, and 2) [link:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=744715|they really, truly hate Sanders supporters] for choosing him over Mrs Clinton.
I'm old and am trying to make the country a better place for my grandchildren before I wrap up what's been a really enjoyable life. I've tried to live it according to some immovable core principles that I got from my dad, a JFK/lbj/rfk democrat and the most kind hearted man I ever met, at least until he became a resident of fox nation. I simply can't understand how we can just give up by voting for Mrs Clinton. I won't do it.
Best of luck, and there is a sliver of hope for your generation as long as you maintain your vision and your principles.

(45,319 posts)I do not think the OP sees the world in black and white. I think you just wanted to condescend. Had you simply lodged disagreement you would not have proven the OP's point so strongly.
