Bernie supports a living wage, a wage that lets a person working 40 hours a week live iwth some dignity and provide for their family, Hillary on the other hand uses the term minimum wage consistently which reveals she looks at this as something her donors might have to pay and is trying to walk between two sides in a negotiation. We know which side Bernie is on and Hillary's choice of language reveals which side she is on. Bernie is human and cares about us, Hillary not so much.
I do have sympathy for Hillary as everyday something reveals how stridently and effectively she smilingly works for her rich donors. Her attempts to make you think this is just primary squabbles between two democrats fail miserably as Bernie is always on our side and she states economists are advising her that a lower amount is appropriate. The question for us is who is it appropriate for? Would business suffer from paying more than a minimum? Would workers suffer from receiving more than the minimum? She is pandering to her rich friends and asks you to be satisfied with a minimum today after all the years her rich donors benefited from the economic inequality they supportesd and still support. No it is not just about what would be fair today, it must also be about reclaiming the riches of our people stolen by tax codes favoring the rich and their corporations over many decades.
Why is it we let them screw us for 40 years with income inequality, destruction of our air, our water, our soil, our climate, let them destroy our dignity with un-affordable healthcare and outrageous student interest rates, kill our sons and now more daughters in wars for their profits, and yet when the day of atonement arrives we let politicians like Hillary who work for them negotiate the miinmium price to be paid, whether it be wages, tax increases, or environmental regulation. Why do we never claw back the riches they have stolen from buying our government? That day is coming, and is well deserved by all parties. Go Bernie, the revolution is on. The people hear and love you for who you are.
