Bernie is far and away the most credible threat to their stranglehold on the party power structure to date. Even if he loses, a strong showing will expose them as vulnerable. They have reason to be concerned. It's not about Bernie. It's about their grip on power.

is right, the Third Way element of our party have certainly EXPRESSED their fear of people like Bernie and Warren, coming out of the shadows they prefer to reside in to do so.

It was pretty cool how they explained the rise of the banker friendly Dems due to the need for cash in the days prior to the internet.

all the way through. You may disagree with them, but there is food for thought there.

(I remember the days when Hartman and Papentonio were considered among the good guys on DU.)

After all, Sanders is only 20 to 30 points behind now. A shoe-in for the nomination.

and the blockhead smilly is very fitting. Hope you're not too 'terrified'......if so, add a few more quivering blockheads, that might help.

9. Third Way's Congressional New Democrat Membership:

Several recent news articles have suggested that, in the words of a Washington Post headline, “there’s … a big economic fight happening in the Democratic Party.”

It’s true. The corporate-friendly policies of the party’s more conservative wing have fared poorly, both as policy and as politics, and as a result the party has moved to the left. The insurgent candidacy of Bernie Sanders is the most conspicuous sign of this shift. It’s a major setback for the so-called “New Democrats” who have dominated the party since the election of Bill Clinton in 1992.

Nearly twenty-five years after they rose to power, the ideas of the “New Democrats” don’t seem so new. Hence, the phenomenon that the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein describes as “the panic of Democratic centrists.”

Sanders represents both progressive and conservative blue collar workers for sure, Third Way Hedge Fund Managers and Chambers of Commerce - No.

It's no wonder both of their economic policies screw over average Americans.
