(15,859 posts)Youre too late to the party. If you havent been a Dem all your life you dont count. Youre probably a Bernie supporter so your not a REAL Democrat anyway. But since youre here, just line up and do as youre told.

(52,719 posts)Democrats are fielding two remarkable candidates. I'm very optimistic.

(151,544 posts)What trend do you think you're starting. Most of us registered as Democrats long, long ago. How is your doing so starting a trend?

(52,719 posts)But my votes have been aligned with Democrats since I registered to vote at 18 years of age.
I represent those who are just disenfranchised by the process. Since I would vote for the Democratic candidate who made it through the primary, it didn't matter who made it through. I usually agreed with the selection.
This election is different because the presidential election is going to be won in the semi-final round.

(151,544 posts)register and vote. For me, that's since 1966, when I turned 21, the voting age then. I've been working to help elect Democrats ever since, and even before then.
You don't represent anyone but yourself. You registered as a Democrat. Just you. You represent yourself.
You've never been disenfranchised and by your own statement, you have voted since you were 18. Being disenfranchised means you are prevented from voting by someone else.
There's no trend. You just finally did what the rest of us did a long, long time ago.
Don't expect many congratulations from people who have been Democrats in reality for decades. Instead, we'll ask you why you have not been a Democrat.
Feh!

(52,719 posts)I'm okay with that criticism.

(12,402 posts)I've been a Democrat since I turned 18 in 1981. Some say you're late to the party, but I for one am always glad when folks register as Democrat. Yay!
I sure hope it's a trend!
