2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDo you really think I gave a shit about the Dem debate, last night?
And I'm as big of a political junkie as anyone...
But on one of the best CFB Saturdays of this year to this point?
Y'all have got to be crazy.
I agree with the anti-DWS crew on this; this was an awful day to schedule a Dem debate in the first place.
Mind you, from what I have seen to this point, neither Bernie or Hilliary or Martin impress me all that much and, given that my state's primary is March 15th, I don't have to be impressed at this time; the nominee of the party will have my vote in November 2016.
EDIT: Y'all DO know that I'm a Michigan fan, right?

(182,794 posts)When I got control of the TV I went right to the games. The Pac 12 is eating themselves alive. The championship game may be between two 2 loss teams Stanford/Oregon - Utah/USC freezing them out of the playoffs and (if THEY BEAT Stanford) weakening ND's shot at getting in.
GO BUCKEYES!

(62,412 posts)against our most hated rival, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, to see if Iowa could maintain their magical season.
You can bet what I watched. Plus with the remote I was able to watch (Iowa grad) Bobby Stoop's Oklahoma team put a knot on Baylor and (Iowa grad) Brett Bielema's Arkansas team continue their turnaround against LSU.
Fantastic scheduling.

(9,967 posts)I think they mostly cement what people already believe. They may make a difference when the gap in thee polls is less than ten points...but to change a race with a huge gap between the candidates..no way.

(15,805 posts)C'mon, it's not like we're living on a deserted island. Sure, we all have things to do, but there are so many options available to watch these debates at any time we want, or listen to pundits, read the analyses, even waste time with straw polls, why is this even an issue unless you just can't be bothered? Nothing wrong with being disinterested in political debates, I guess, but it just seems an odd choice tp toss out in a political forum.

(2,197 posts)it is marketing, after all.
So why would I want to "promote my brand" at a time when fewer people even want to see it. ipso facto, fewer people will "buy" it?

Recorded the debate. Still haven't watched it. Don't know if I will.

(2,197 posts)went hopping last night, lol...we do follow Bret here in Big 10 country, still...although I follow Les Miles as well (come to think of it, the SEC sure loves them some Midwestern coaches)

(6,280 posts)...can't fault him for his post-game activities. And maybe it's the Midwestern coaches that love them some SEC. I'm just an old Hawg fan happy to still have something to get excited about. I'm proud of them bouncing back the way they have.
