(40,969 posts)the more enthusiastic the dem base will be.
And a lot of us (me included) who have been critical of the prez, & have said "No more voting for the lesser of two evils," well, it sounds good mid-term. But when you listen to these fuckers, their ideas (legitimate rape), their lies, their denial of science, well, I can't imagine voting for anyone but Obama.
This was attributed to Chris Rock. I believe it was actually a Chris Rock parody who tweeted it, but it still rocks!
If you vote against Obama because he can't get stuff done, it's like saying, "This guy can't cure cancer. I'm gonna vote for cancer."

Clearly, there is great enthusiasm for Obama.

I'll look and report back.
Looks impressive! And as beautiful as Colorado can be. I hope all those people vote!
Website says he's speaking at "3 PM ET" !! (I think they mean Mountain Time 5 Eastern) they have a place on the page for today's live event.

(3 posts)America turned over the House in 2010. The Republican's didn't MAKE us as a nation fight the spending. You cannot underestimate us as a ENTIRE country. The message has to be MUCH bigger and with specifics that fit today's ECONOMY. We need to see a solid vision, specifics on how to move forward, and one that includes reaching across the isles. If not, Obama can't move forward in the next 4 years. This is the ONLY way to roll forward. If not, we will turn over the office to the Republicans in 4 years without any change and a whole lot more in debt than today. This is awful. We cannot be SO PARTISAN.
Capn Sunshine
(14,378 posts)There's nothing partisan about fighting the evil powers who have put over a half a billion into anti-Obama ads so far.
A quick visit to the OFA website will provide the plan and solid vision. Don't be watching the Fox news and expect to see it there.
Obama's jobs bill alone provide a solid vision of stimulus and beneficial improvements to national infrastructure. However, it has been blocked by Republicans more than once.
Our message is NOT partisan compadre, it's common sense for what's wrong.

(8,377 posts)Go look at the full set of pictures on that battleground website.
From here on out, Romney events will be drawing 200-4000 while Obama is drawing 500-50,000. The campaign has been planning this a long time. They understand the psychology of momentum, how it affects fence-sitters, and particularly how it affects the MSM coverage.
The Koch brothers cannot hire enough actors to keep up with the numbers that will be at Obama events. They will rely on their pals in the right-wing media to go with carefully cropped fish-eye shots to create the impression they are in the game, but the numbers will be very lopsided.

I heard that when Obama speaks in Charlotte, there will be people on hand to sign on volunteers. I hope there were people like that in Colorado. If 1/100th of those people volunteer, that's still 130 people that the campaign didn't have before. One in ten would be 1,300 ground troops. My fingers are crossed.

ailsagirl
(24,287 posts)IMO, no matter how enthusiastic the crowds are and what the electoral college maps say and what the exit polls will indicate, I still have my doubts that Obama will win, simply because the venom on the other side has never been more overt. They are absolutely determined to oust him and nothing--nothing--will stand in their way. I hope I'm wrong.
cheezmaka
(785 posts)But they took Gore by surprise. Everyone is aware of the voter suppression tactics now and the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania is working harder to get the word out and get registered voters with the proper id. The same is happening in the other battlegroundstates. I listen to the Al Sharpton Show and his National Action Network has volunteers as well that will help voters get id. I don't believe it will be a landslide for Obama but I think he will get the 270 electoral votes first. With the massive momentum Obama has, and what I believe both he and Biden will do in the debates he still has a better chance to get re-elected.
ailsagirl
(24,287 posts)The fact that Rove is very busy in the background, doing god-knows-what evil makes me think the worst. After all, it is a fact that Rove got a tech-guru to manipulate the numbers in Ohio, thus throwing the race to the repukes in 2004. That person conveniently died in a small plane crash before he could testify as to the role he played and for whom. That's as scary as scary can get.
And he has been interviewed and asked who'd win in November and he said the repukes. All the progress that has been done about ensuring voters' right to vote is useless if Rove is setting up his 2004 plan to steal this election.

Yes, at our event, there were at least 40 people who asked us if we were registered to vote. As we waited in line, we were repeatedly asked by many volunteers. They had forms to get people signed up snd I saw many registering. You could also sign up to have an absentee ballot sent to you, so you could vote early. Voting starts in Iowa in 24 days!!!
Also, Obama mentioned voter registration and spent a fair amount of time encouraging peoplto register, vote and to vote early--then work to get others to the polls. Great efforts to increase turnout!!!
