I think we got the presidency but what about the house & senate?

Last I looked we were down two seats in the senate.
I have no clue on what's happening in the house.

Can anyone fill me in?

If we can't keep the Senate those MF's will be putting all sorts of bullshit through.

Is the house hopelessy lost?

If Bain implodes on Romney in October, then that's going to depress Republican turn-out. The top of the ticket always matters, maybe more for us than it does for them, but in a series of tight house races, one percentage point tilting in our favor can make a big difference.

We're almost certain to lose MT, ND, NE, and, sad as I am to say it, WI -- which give the GOP the Senate. MO is shaky (though better than it was last week, that's for sure), and TPM today is reporting that Brown is pulling away from Warren in MA (though that could change, especially if she electrifies the convention). Frankly, it looks really bad right now.

Thanks to Todd Akin, I'm no longer worried about MO. But if we don't either pick up MA or get Angus King to caucus with the Dems, we'll have a tough job holding the Senate.

I don't have the time or patience to follow the House seat-by-seat, but I'd note that RCP is showing 229 seats either safe or leaning GOP, which doesn't look good.

I think our best hope right now is a Romney/Ryan campaign that's so disastrous that it has down-ballot consequences.

but that really sucks. Looks like a choice between another 4 years of getting almost nothing passed, caving to the repiglicans desires, and barely being able to keep the mf's from privatizing the whole gd country so they can own it, or Mitt Romney who will get lots of bills passed. Unfortunately everything passed will screw all of us and redistribute all of the wealth to the rich.

It looks pretty hopeless for this country.

Ony NE Is certain to flip.ND seat Is doing better and we have chance to keep It.It's certinly tough In MT.And I agree we should be
very very worried about WI.Mo Is winnable now.And MA Is still a chance to win as Is Nevada.

Senate races can change.

down to how effective he will be in swaying opinion. If he holds back, a lot of close elections in the house & senate will be hard to win. I believe Obama's magnetism will really get the base out for election day, and will be a similar result as in 2008.
