Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) 2016 presidential campaign says they have more female donors than Democratic primary front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Roughly 301,000 women have donated to Sanders's campaign compared to 240,000 for Clinton, a more than 60,00 edge as of the last reporting period at the end of September.
Sanders spokeswoman Symone Sanders touted the numbers as a sign that the grassroots enthusiasm for Senator Sanders is unmatched by any other candidate.
The fact that so many women have decided to donate to the senators campaign says that his policies and record are indeed resonating with women across the country, she told The Washington Post.

(15,438 posts)Republican Myra Adams even admits to donating to Sanders' campaign in her article calling for Operation Chaos 2016.
But it was not until I saw a headline in The Hill warning that the Sanders surge is becoming a bigger problem for Clinton, accompanied by It may be time for Hillary Clinton to take the challenge from Sen. Bernie Sanders more seriously, that I was truly motivated to join Team Bernie and rally my fellow Republicans to do the same.
So I sent Bernie a donation and visited his campaign store, where my favorite bumper sticker was Vote for Bernie . . . you know you wanna! Now, I dont really wanna, and neither do you. However, supporting Bernie in the early stages of his campaign is a noble cause that makes a great deal of political sense and emboldens me to announce Operation Chaos 2016.

I'm certain she's not the last Republican woman to do so.

BTW, glad she gave money. At least it's not from some HUGE corporation who pays little taxes and cares even less about working Americans.

(15,438 posts)These Republican operatives are banking on weakening Hillary Clinton's campaign with donations, tweets, and articles. And they'll lose.
I bet you are. Every little bit helps.

(8,976 posts)because conversely she had
1.a lower absolute number of female donors
2.a lower absolute number of male donors
and lastly
3.a lower percentage of male donors
So essentially her campaign statement is meant to show that unlike Meatloaf, they believe 1 out or 4 ain't bad....

Sanders people can say whatever, but Clinton has the vote.

(66 posts)That Sanders serge among woman is unprecedented. From being barely known to collecting the most donations from woman among any of these candidates.

(66 posts)keep spreading the message, in March 2015 less than 20% of woman polled had any opinion on Sanders. Now he is suddenly the grassroots candidate of woman across the nation - gathering more woman donors than any other candidate in the race. Those are really important realizations that you brought up with that poll.

(17,796 posts)Has. Yes.
The challenge for Bernie isn't to have a better message, he does. It's can we motivate enough people to change this system. That's not going to be easy, but it's necessary if we ever want to start repairing the damage of the last thirty years.
